You can put that option in Looking For Group tab.
If someone have a Guild he can advertise it there. Next to a guild name you will have a description button that you can click and then it will expand and you can read something about that guild, because owner of the guild wrote something in description example: We want only Russian players, who are 50+ year old.

There will be no join button, only pm option. You will click it and your mail will open and then you can write your application to the guild master.

There will be a lots of guilds, So of course you can sort guilds by name, or search guilds that are doing dungeons, pvp, wvw, pve, fractals. Because when you are listing your guild in search engine you will have those 4 options to check the box if your guild is doing that stuff example is: pvp, wvw, pve, dungeons, fractals.

And there it is… No more spamming on map chat…

So what do you guys think ? Does anyone have any better idea ?

It’s not a bad idea. Anything to make the UI more player-friendly sounds good in my book. It would also save me from seeing [WXYZ] Recruiting! LF active players! I Dungeon I PvP I WvW I Fractals I Farming I every 5 minutes.

This is a great idea. Finding guild currently can be kind of a pain.

Ok, so on the left side we can click on Guilds tab and it will open options for WvW, PvP, Dungeons…
And we can mark that little cube if we are interested in that sort of gameplay.

On the right side we can click on Name and it will sort Guilds by Alphabetic Name.
If we mark little cube on the interest it will sort Guilds by Interests that we have chosen on the left side of a search engine.

And then we have Search option. Do we need search option? I think we dont…
But! Search option can be like this: You can type Account name or Character name in it and it will show all Guilds in which that character is in!

Ok… So if we click on Description we will get pop up window about what does that guild wants. Example is only german players, Poland players and so on… You can say we can add flags ? Yea we can but not 5 types of flags, because this is international game… we would need 100 of them… But yea we can add at least English flag, for those who wants people who understand and speak english language.
Or people who have Team Speak, so we can add Microphone icon, which would mean that you have to have Microphone in order to be in that guild because they are social, and they hang out on Team Speak…

Search would be useful to see if a particular guild was recruiting.

I’d actually probably not include searching for characters. PM or Whisper if you want to know what guild a person is in. If it’s a friend, then you’ve got a better chance of getting in if the friend knows they’ve applied and can put in a good word. Or you can just ask the person who you are interested in joining their guild what guild(s) they are in.

But overall, great suggestion.

i think a request to join option would be better than just doing a pm option that way the leader or officers of that guild can decide if the person has been in the guild before and left or was kicked and they can have the full ability of control of who they let into their guild.

We would need to have sort by flags.
Because If German players want to find German Guild, he can click on Flag and the little window will slide down that will have 5 flags. Then he will Click on little box near the flag and It will search all Guilds that have that flag. In that way he will not need to search thru 100 guilds reading descriptions, or looking what guild have German flag. It will save him a lots of time.

And yes you will have option to search with all filters. Example If you click search by name and then search by flag, Name search will reset and you will search only by flags.
That cannot happen! You have to be able to search by name, by flag, by interest in the same time.
That means when you choose all of those filters it will show Guilds by alphabetic name, Flag that you have chosen, and Interest that you have marked.

There is a limit of 10 messages, and because of that, you cant add message on Guild Search option.
We should have instead Join Application. When you click on that, a little pop up window would open, and there you can write your application.
Guild master can design application. Or application can be designed by Guild Wars 2 staff..
