Does anyone know if ANet will be bringing back the guild alliances? Do you think they should, and what kind of stuff could the do to make it useful, (like in GW1 they had the kurzick and lux faction which gave alliances meaning)? also what kind of stuff do you think they will bring along for guilds to make them more enjoyable, like what they will do with the guild halls when released.

Guild need a major overhaul right now. There really is so much they could be doing to even make guilds worthwhile.

I would love to see an alliance system like kur v lux. Make a faction who worship the elder dragons and another that seek the destruction of the elder dragons. Or let the TP groups splinter after accusations of a rigged election (potentially the sequel to cutthroat politics) and have one alliance support evon and the other support Ellen.

Adding alliance chat would be great to coordinate bigger events (wurm, teq, etc.)

I agree that the whole guild system needs an overhaul.

First and foremost, we need tools. Except for a listing of current members, one cannot even see how long it’s been since anyone logged in. It would be nice to see that UberGuardian1 logged in last night even if I didn’t actually see him/her online. We also need a way to mass mail our members. Let’s add a way to separate the kick and invite features.

Secondly, and almost as important, we need reasons to belong to one other than guild missions or taking down a large target (Teq, etc.) Give us some guild pride. Let us be able to say “My guild’s better than your guild neener neener blahblahblah.” Some sort of competition (cough-GvG-cough) would bolster guild loyalty.

I love that you can belong to more than one, but still, give us reasons to want to.
