Guild Wars 1
It shouldn’t matter if it’s an @ncsoft account. When you link it, the accounts are merged and your GW2 account becomes your GW1 account (you login to GW1 using your GW2 account).
If you want, you can update your @ncsoft username to a proper email by logging in to https://account.guildwars2.com/ using your GW1 account information.
Yes, GW1 accounts still work. The HoM in GW2 is currently disabled due to an exploit however, so you can’t get any of the rewards.

Should still get the AP and titles i believe, just yeah cant get access to the Item rewards
Thanks for the answer I don’t remember the exact reason, but if i remember correctly back when i bought gw2 – nearly 2 years ago – i already tried to link the accounts, but i couldn’t. I have a not trustworthy memory of, like, creating for mistake a new account and linking my old gw1 account to that one. Can’t say for sure though.
Anyway right now it says there’s a server error in linking the accounts… dunno if it’s for the fact that HoM is disabled or for another reason.
And can’t log in with the GW1 account information neither
I too had an @ncsoft account, but they don’t offer any more support for these. I must have forgotten my password or something, but I cannot log in and I cannot change my password any more.
It makes me sad, especially since I never got to appreciate GW1 because my computer was a piece of garbage back in the day and that really turned me off to it. Now I’d have to repurchase the game to play it again

If you are sure you are typing in your correct account info, try send a ticket to support then

Well, that’s not my problem, since i’m sure that account name and password are correct. I’m logged in in GW1 right now. My dervish is running around in this very moment :P

They don’t do any support for @ncsoft accounts.

Aren’t @ncsoft accounts not supported anymore?
I’m sorry, but this link isn’t of any help In that discussion they don’t say anything about how to solve my current problem, or at least i seem unable to understand it
Its going to be painful farming some HOM points though. Prestige stuff in that game was made for the long haul, and some aren’t practical without a lot of help.

It was in reference to linking GW1 with GW2 if you used an NCSoft account. It wasn’t in reference to the other part about how to access the NCSoft account. Based on what I saw, those that were not converted were deleted back in May. Whether this affects you linking your GW1 account, I do not know.
Even if you have to buy a new account, getting 30 HOM points is relatively painless.

For reference, I bought gw1 after buying gw2, and things linked up just fine. However, I can’t remember if it happened automatically or if I had to do something to link them.
And can’t log in with the GW1 account information neither
Testing now, I can’t either, however I do know it worked just prior to HoT pre-purchasing. They probably broke the system with the last update when they added the new registration system (https://register.arena.net). (doesn’t work there either)
You can contact support to get your accounts manually linked or the email updated.

They’re supported, they just have invalid emails. You’re supposed to login and update them or contact support.
If you can log into the GW1 account and know the info for it, I would contact support, they should be-able to manually link the 2 accounts, it seems rather strange that anyone who played GW1 cannot link there account,
When/If they do link them your login info for GW1 will become whatever your login info for GW2 is.

Well, usually. I linked my second Guild Wars 1 account (an ncsoft account) to my alt account then got into an “argument” with the change email part of that page. It wouldn’t take my gw2 account’s email so after a few rounds, it ended up with my Guild Wars 1 account having a different, new email and password than my Guild Wars 2 account. They both work, so /shrug.
ANet may give it to you.
I apologize for making here this topic, since it probably isn’t the right place, but i really don’t know where i should ask (anyway it’s still related to gw2… kinda).
My question is: i’ve decided i want to do the achievements in gw1 that would allow me to get the items and AP of GW2. I already had an account, but since it’s still a @ncsoft, from what i understood i can’t do the linking anymore. So, if i buy another copy of gw1, with a new account etc., does it still work now, in 2015? Will i be able to link it to my gw2 account? Does anyone know?
Sorry if i made grammar mistakes, but english isn’t my first language.
I had ncsoft acct for gw1 too and was unable to link the accounts after the game launched, so i contacted support and explained my problem. They asked me for all the serial key codes for gw1 games and for gw2. Once i provided them, they fixed the problem and linked my accounts, no problem.
So i don’t think you need to buy gw1 again. Instead, i suggest u contact support as i did and explain ur situation. I’m sure they’ll fix it for you, provided you still have all the necessary key codes for both games, or at least proof of purchase.
Good luck and hope you get it sorted out.
