Guild Wars 2

A friend finally convinced me to start putting up the stuff that I’ve put together over the years, I always had a fascination with the story and lore behind Guild Wars and GW2, and I’ve always found that it kind of sucks for those that are coming into GW2 without having seen the story of GW1. This work also has its own twists and turns to keep it freh and tries to fix some of the issues a few people have with the personal story. Multiple locations will also be introduced that many people knwo into the story including the Eye of the North, the Temple of Ages and others from GW1 to connect it more with the story of GW2. Now a disclaimer on this, you wont see any videos mainly theres are trailers, and scripts I wrote up and pieced together with music and ambiance that felt right, thats really why this project of mine never went anywhere cause I suck badly at machinima. But if people are interested I’ll start putting up the entire story I have for a Guild Wars 1 and 2 movies. Ogden: I was there at the beginning. When the Great Destroyer was beaten, before we realised that he was just a minion for a greater evil. In 1301 AE, the Kingdom of Kryta assembled the one of the largest armies that had ever been seen, to finally defeat Zhaitan and his brethren.

Gavin: The Chosen of Tyria dissapeared to create a ritual, one to protect us from teh gaze of the dragons, but it is failing. We have only three weeks until it fails to build an army to save Destiny’s Edge and bring the fight to Zhaitan forces so they can kill him.
0:47 Minister Caudecus: But there is no such army.
0:49 Gavin: This is why we must make one! We fight or we die.

Background Information

Leah Alsin- Human elementalist noble. Her parents dissapeared almost 25 years ago when she was a baby, raised by her families servants she grew in a somewhat pampered life, but with a strong upbringing in magic and belief in justice. Tempered in an unexpected event turns her into an at first reluctant hero, but pushes her to fight for her people and others.

Gavin e’Kieron – An Ascalonian outcast, his distant ancestor was the leader of the Chosen of Tyria, the group that defeated the Lich, Shiro, Abbadon, and the Great Destroyer. Due to his family line being disgraced he continues to fight to regain his family honor and to try to makeup for the precieved mistakes of his ancestor.

Magni Brokkrson – Apprentice to Jora, one of the Chosen of Tyria, training to be a true hero. Fights against the oddness his culture puts upon him for being an Engineer, more worried about tinkering and creating instead of brawling combat and drink.

Xaap – Mesmer extrodinare, or so he thinks. All he wants is to make a name for himself, finally be respected amongst his peers.

Lord Faren – Lovable goofball, life long friend to Leah and general aall around womanizer. While Faren is brash and more trouble than he is worth sometimes, his heart is always in the right place and he is willing to do whatever he can to protect his friends.

Also included are all the know characters weve come to love and enjoy, Destiny’s Edge, Jenna, Knut, the Vigil, the Priory, the Whispers, and on and on. I don’t want to give too much away to the backgrounds and history or it will just ruin the story.

The Beginning Scene 1

Fight the Darkness

0:00 Screen fades in to a huge army of Humans from Divinity’s Reach in formation (army around 10000 strong with multiple siege weapon emplacements), with it pouring rain upon them, and lightning flashes in the background. They look out upon an opposing army of undead. The camera zooms in upon the command section at the back of the army
Commander Saran Alsin: We are in position, Sir.
General Zamon: Have the forward columns move up, begin the attack.

0:13 The front of the army moves slowly towards the undead. Trebuchets fire into the oncoming undead horde, decimating their numbers.

0:32 Saran: Sir, something is wrong, the undead are falling to easily.
Zamon: Superior strategy. All force charge and engage.
Saran: We should pull back, this isn’t right.
Zamon: At my moment of glory?! No full attack.
(All human force engage flanking the undead army on both sides)

0:54 Undead begin bursting out of the ground almost completely encircling the Divinity’s Army except for the way back north beginning to run towards it. Multiple Zhaitan champions descend from the sky and begin tearing through the army.

1:08 Saran: Sir we must order a full retreat. We can’t stand against that!
Zamon: How…. how can this be (stunned silence)
Saran: Horn, sound the retreat!
(Flag barrer drops the flag and begins sounding the retreat. The army begins to fall apart and the retreat becomes a rout)
Zamon: NO, I WON’T LET YOU TAKE MY MOMENT OF GLORY! (begins to strangle Saran)

1:19 Saran punches Zamon knocking him out and handing him to an aide “Get him out of here”
Saran looks upon the carnage realizing that they are being destroyed as they are running away and they need a miracle
(a mesmer image appears before Saran of a grizzled old warrior)
Ravik e’Kieron: Get everyone out of here we will hold them as long as we can
(the image shatters and then we see in the midst of the battle with soldier all around fleeing a set force of 500 heading towards the undead force)

1:33 from far away we hear the shout “Ascalonian’s CHARGE!”
(the force picks up speed spreading out to prepare to engage)

1:55 Fully routed human army being chased and destroyed running north, Death and destruction everywhere, people dying and dead with Saran running and looking back to see the Ascalonian brigade being torn to ribbons but still fighting until suddenly

2:15 the Undead suddenly stop following the army feet away from Saran, seemingly losing interest and turn back heading south away as Saran looks stunned upon his former soldier rising from the dead and following their new undead masters.

A map of the Continent of Tyria slowly appears, with the camera zooming in and showing the respective place as its called up.

0:00 Ogden: The world has changed much since my friends and I were last together. The darkness has grown and the world is in turmoil.

0:10 The Charr attacked Ascalon(zooms in on Ascalon City), and it was destroyed by Adelburn. Denying them any victory, turning all of Ascalon into ghosts. They pushed still against humanity but were held back by Kryta and Ebonhawke. Palawa Joko decimated Elona, forcing it all under his rule, and Cantha cut themselves off from the world. And then they came, the Elder Dragons.

0:29 Primordius of Earth awoke in the Central Transfer Chamber pushing the last of the Asura to the surface, my people, if they still exist continue to fight him. The Jormag of Ice appeared in the north, devestating the Norn (zooms in on the Northern Shiverpeaks, colouring them red and going south to Frostgourge Sound) and forcing them south into the lands of my people. The sea dragon then arose cutting what little contact we had left with Elona and Cantha off (paints the southwest oceans red). Zhaitan appeared, raising Orr from the depths with him and untold destruction upon the coast (Orr and its surrounding areas painted red). Lions arch was detroyed and rebuilt by the tenacity of pirates.(zooms in on LA) Zhaitan’s forces attacked, but were repelled by Kryta and Lions Arch. (Zooms in on Steamspur Mountains) Divinity’s Reach then sent a force against Zhaitan, but they were also destroyed. (Zoom in on the Grove) The Sylvari were next to appear, but instead of a foe, a new inquisitive race, and a friend, thing were still dark, but there was hope.

1:26 A Norn by the name of Eir formed Dragon’s Destiny, rallying two Asura to her cause of destroying the Elder Dragons (Shows Eir, with Zojja and Snaff slowly appearing with her). She also recruited Edge of Steel, creating Destiny’s Edge (Caithe, Rytlock and Logan slowly appear with the other three). Together they destroyed many dragon champions. (shows Destiny’s Edge fighting the champions in Maguuma, in the Shiverpeaks, and Upon the undead ships)

1:46 Joining with Glint they challenged a newly reawakened Kralkatorrik (Shows the video by Caithe in Sorrows Embrace), but were defeated, breaking Destiny’s Edge, and pushing the world back towards darkness and despair.

2:16 There have been some overture of peace, notably by Dougal Keene (Shows the handing of the Claw of Khan-Ur back to the Charr), but not enough to bring the world together against their common foe. We are at our greatest need (The map zooms out to show a full image of Tyria with all the corrupted areas of the dragons in blood red and the small territories of the five races that remain untouched). They fight amongst themselves while the Elder Dragon’s are poised to destroy us all.
