My guild on another NCSoft game (Lineage 2) is considering playing Guild Wars 2.

I saw there was a great promotion that just passed in the end of January where you could get a GW2 account for $10.00.

Are there any future promotions like this planned? it would be a great incentive to get a bunch of them playing here.

Nothing has been announced but if I had to guess I think they will have another sale before HoT comes out.

It was the first such big promotion. Stay tuned with the front page. If they do a promotion it’ll most probably be tuned with some big real life holidays or beta weekends for HoT

that 75% was a special for the announcement of expansion. I believe the 2nd cheapest option they once in a while have is a 50% off sale and there will be notification on the login screen screen days prior..Maybe they’ll (takes bite of oatmeal) release another sale whenever they release expansion.

Give me a break, 6th through 8th is the promotion!? and its over.. awesome, why is it so hard to run a campaign for a few weeks. Let the word get out (no 48hours is not enough time) and get people to sign up.

Because selling the game for so little money for “a few weeks” would be very bad for business?

We had plenty of warning before it started, there were banners with the information around the web. There were mails. Most MMO-sites had information about it and so on.

It was promotion during a computer show PAX east and it was a promotion for that show. The thing is with the show, so many eyes on you you make up for in quantity so you can sell cheaper.

Show ends, and you’re back to a trickle of sales so you need to make more from each copy sold. This is normal for business.

During the show you have eyes on you of people who never thought about you before. That’s the time for a sale. After the show, not so much.
