Q:
Guild Wars 2 Combat Mode
A:
There is a conversation already on this just a few threads down from yours as of the time of this post:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Some1-got-banned-for-using-tera-combat-mod/
And here is what Anet says about it:
Maybe because GW2 isn’t a “twich” style of combat it’s “tab-target” combat. If you want that style then go play Call Of Duty or Battlefield or the other plethora of FPS games that are out there.
Some people in the comments said they got banned, but from what i saw, he was just spamming skill one, with the left mouse button, and said he had dodge on right click? I’m not too sure how it helps.
That’s a shame though. Do they want people to enjoy their game fully or enjoy their game as they created it?
ESO allows all kinds of mods. GW2 should at least some to a degree.
Its a mod that allows auto casting, and for example can hold down the right mouse button for you, which gives you an advantage, and could be classed as botting. so not allowed.
An ArenaNet dev explaining here that it’s not bannable.

You can do the same with the core game system. If you don’t bot then you’re not a victim.
From your post it seems more like you are looking for assurance that you wont get banned. Chances are ARenanet will not respond, but don’t you find it strange that only one guy has been whining about being banned for using it? Especially, given how popular combat mode is?
If you are looking for us to comfort you and tell you, you wont get banned, we can’t do that. We can however tell you that, most of the time people who claimed to be banned for one reason end up getting banned for another unrelated reason aka botting.
This is an mmo forum, if someone isn’t whining chances are the game is dead.

No, it’s not exclusively tab-target. It’s a hybrid of both, except it’s missing a target reticule. That is the only difference. You can aim at anything and hit it with your skills without a target.
The reason there isn’t a target reticule, is because it interferes with the mouse pointer, but there are many solutions to make it work.
I am going to join in on the hype and say that magical “expansion” might have a new targeting system.
