So. After speding my youth Everquest 1-2, Wow, Lineage 2, Ragnaroc Online, Eve online, Warhammer online, Phantasy star online and all the unimaginable exndless mmo-s that are out there Guild Wars 1 was the most excellent i met (on the same scale as Tera-s combat).
I guess its not a wonder i waited Guild Wars 2 like a miracle, hering what direction is it heading. And i am still waiting…why? Let me explain it to you why i feel like that. (and i am not alone in this.)
1, The game feels like a palace, that is half completed, so it was rushed to be atleast a house. So its a house, not a palance, that could have been.
2, You devs sead, we get what we liked in Gw1. The best thing most of my friends and communities araund me sead was : Guild Halls, and GvG-s.
-The reson i dont understand* why Guild Halls are still not in is simply….you gave us SOO MOCH temporary content that needs like 50 times more time and effort to make then a kittenty permanent Guild Hall, that is fun and always to use, not just a decoration feature, like most of the game is becoming.*
3, BY claiming, that you can use anything araund you (dephending on what class you are) you made a fool out of yourself. Picking up a rock, (that lies on the ground randomly) and throwing it….is fine, but nothing really special…why would i do it, if i can throw a fireball with full trait and gear bonuses?
Most palyers thout it will be like (it is in the new dragon age) " you shoot the woonden support holding the cealing and it falls on the enemy" ( as an Elementalist you can burn it, as a warrior you can bash it, and an engineer you can blow it up with a c4 or smt).
-The current system of “interaction” is totally wasted effort. I find picking up sticks and metal bars pointless waste of time. Its not cool. Its unmiaginative compared to hat we hoped (and you ead ii to be) for. Again it feels like, that you had the idea, but did not make it as you planned to be. But then again, you have time to make kittenty mario dungeons, when players are here to play an Massively Multiplay Online Role Playing Game. Not Mario Online.
4, The weapon system seems fine, to a point. It is decent atleast, so i wont bother to explain why it is not as good as it could be, lets claim that it is good.
But still again, not even the half of weapons you intended are in the game. Not to mention how extremely dull it is, when you are “auto attacking” in your 80% of the time or use 3 skill from 4 weapon skillset ( 20 skills not moch anyway) and 2 random utility, that is mostly not utility but dmg-buff- or debuff basically.
I dont want to sound someone that is complaning, since i am…Classes have a small selection of weapons, give them more….really not hard to give classes weapons, propably takes less time, then to make whole maps and skillsets for Chrismas.
5, Classes are boxed in, feels not like my character at all. In Gw1 your hero interacted with the world, and not just “chat” with others. Anyone who came up with the “cutscenes” idea in Gw2….fire him instantly. In Gw1 i totally felt, that it was ME who saves the world, not a bunch of namess dudes alongside the Destiny-s Edge.
(i understand that you want to keep the action to the actual gameplay itself, but its wont reach the same effect)
As for boxed in, classes are uncostumizable, You took trinity away, so we can benefit from having no roles, but you forget you dont only benefit from it. Or more liely, you dont only have negative effects from trinity
No need for “tank” is cool (trough takes a lifetime to find a party anyway so its pointless at this point, a totally waste of effort from this side), but you forget how cool its is to take up a role that only you can provide to your team, and feel usefull or essential for a skill only you have. Seriously the non trinity is making the classes and character feel the same. I feel no costumization in them even with traits and gear and kitten. Not to mention that classes are not only boxed in with “what they can do”, or what combat role they can take in combat (there are no roles….basically), but even the gear they have is limited to like 4-5 weapons, and they cant even use all weapons or armors, so basically you are forced to that be a set in thing.
No costumization = no fun. Players do like to set up how they play, and by that i mean Weapons, skills, look, combat role (the game is like 70% abaut combat for kitten sake)
-If you really want to improve the “combat” dont discard combat roles, but give ALL combat roles to ALL classes. That makes them interesting not plain.
I could ramble for days somethimes abaut stuff that “dissapointed” me in Gw2, but since its like not even out to me, i will end it here.
I am hoping for an “expansion” that can imrpove the game to the thing it was originally intended. Afterall Gw1 was only truly amazing after Factions to.
Exuse my terrible english in advance, its not my prime.
