Guild Wars 2

So here we are again, going on the the 2nd Christmas in GW2, and no T shirts available?
What happened to the results of the big vote last year?
There’s many available that are from questionable sites, and frankly I’m not interested in buying a knock off.
Any idea when they will be available from Anet???

Well they got rid of the “I’m not alone. The rest of my party is just culled.” T-shirt idea. That was the real money maker.

The simple dragon logo white t-shirt is a great design. They only give them out or sell them at conventions though unfortunately. I’d love to buy one or two of these myself but they’re only available to those who work for the company or who go to conventions.

^^^^^^^^ Very bad advice, the GW2 logo and artwork are trademarks of Anet/NCsoft, no self respecting artist/printer would touch such a job without written consent from NCsoft giving rights to reproduce their intellectual property, and before you say just change it up a little and you’ll be ok, nope no amount of change to their artwork would make it legal to reproduce without their consent. Believe me they have lawyers who’s job it is to protect their IP.

I would think if it was such a huge issue Anet lawyers would be working ot, just google GW2 apparel, and that’s just one search. Making your own off the Lore, ss of your favorite character wallpaper art, GW2, server, etc kinda flattering for the company.

Ideally Anet releases apparel finally, overpriced, but the reason you pay $60 for a Tshirt is because you choose to support the company.

Agreed, making your own based on lore is perfectly acceptable and legal, also a fine tribute to a game you love, and as you say flattering to NCsoft. It’ when you incorporate the GW2 logo or artwork that problems could arise, granted making shirts for your own personal use has a very low risk factor providing you have the means to do so or can find a printer to do low volume one or two off shirts at a reasonable price.

Put in the above context it’s perfectly legal it’s when you use the GW2 logo or Anet artwork modified or not that problems will start, then add selling them to others and you could be in for a lot of legal problems, it matters little what Anet sells their shirts for (should they decide to offer them), it’s also entirely possible that people selling on the internet are legally licensed by NCsoft to reproduce their IP, if not than it is a ticking clock as to when they will get a cease and desist order from a NCsoft lawyer at the very least or dragged into court to defend their actions.

Not trying to be critical just informative as this is a topic I’ve dealt with for many years both on the art design side and the printing/production side.

Having said all of that it would be a wonderful Christmas gift from NCsoft/Anet to send a tee shirt to all of their loyal players…I’ll take mine in XL please!

Having Guild Wars 2 apparel would be a great idea. If Arena Net would sell them I’m sure a lot of players would be glad to buy them.

I’m on board with just a plain white T-Shirt with the red “2” dragon on the front. Perhaps Arena Net would start off with that product to see how well it would sell, but I’d love to get a purple mesmer themed shirt.

If Guild Wars ever becomes popular enough, it’s likely we will see companies like Jinx making Guild Wars apparel. As of now, I don’t think the demand is anywhere close to high enough.
