Guild Wars 2-The Two is for You!
Number 2 in the gw2 tittle represents you,you are number 2.Who is number one you might ask?
Edit:Don’t give me poop about the wall of text
Then for what other reason would you want us to give you poop?
Right it’s not your story. Because your story involves only you and that would be boring. Stories about you also have interaction. Captain Kirk had a whole crew, but you know he was still Captain. When it came down to it he was in charge. But he had other people he depended on.
I like many of the characters in the living story. I like some of the dialogue. I like some of the scenes. I’m having fun with it.
Wish you were here.
Every time they call me Commander, or Commander Harny, I tag up and feel more important to the story. Try it, it’s only 100g. But hurry up!
I was actually really annoyed when they started calling me boss and acting like they needed my input, rather than doing what they were good at and coming to their own conclusions.
I should not be the boss of Destiny’s Redux. Marjory is the leader. I’m just the guy who shows up from time to time to help them out, and kill major characters for them.
In Guild Wars, not just Guild Wars 2, you are a participating spectator. But you’re still just one person who happens to be there while big things are happening. I really don’t understand this driving need to be the most important person in an MMO. It’s an MMO, it’s not supposed to be about you any more than it should be about any other player. You’re all participating in the same thing, so how can you be the linchpin. That’s why I really like ArenaNet taking us a step back and saying, “No, these guys are the ones whose story this is, you’re just there too.”

I definitely feel this. Seriously, this has been a complaint ever since the personal story where people get really upset about not being number one 100% of the time. I don’t understand it, really I don’t. The more complaints I read on the matter, the more I’m convinced that anyone in a position of power, not named “player character,” is an affront…
And the LS team this year is bending over backwards to put you, and only you, in the drivers seat. The amount of backpedaling they’ve done has actually intruded on my immersion. “Hey boss, what do you think?”, “Hey boss, who’s guilty here?” (Kas, dear, it was obvious in two lines of text…), “Hey boss, most of the world leaders are suddenly throwing hissy-fits about the summit, come use your massive influence to make them listen.” And then there’s my personal favorite:
Treherne: “I’m just here to listen” “The Commander is who you should be talking to.”
Really? I understand [at least some of] the discontent with him in the personal story, but the “damage” is already done. He’s the head of the Pact. Despite that, he wants the Commander to tell everyone what’s going on despite her having been gone from the pact for months! Treherne actually has relevant information here, but because he’s so ill-liked among the verbal playerbase, he’s sitting on his hands like everyone else and letting us do all the talking with none of the information. And to put the cherry on top, the Pale Tree goes out of her way to get all of her attendants to leave not once, but twice, to talk to the Commander secretly, because for whatever reason, she feels like the Commander is the one she trusts most.
Maybe I’m missing something, but isn’t all that kind of heroic enough? Where exactly are people stealing the “glory?”
