Guild Wars 2 Wish List
1. Mounts
Mounts would not only be look cool but they would also give a 40% speed boost. Cultural mounts could be available and other mounts could be bought via stable masters, laurels, or gem store.
Mounted combat should be added to enhance the experience. You skills could be altered when you mount your steed, much like underwater combat.
I also feel that mounts are lore friendly because there is concept art and gameplay referring to mounts.

2. More armor and weapon skins
Guild Wars 2 is a very young game for an MMO and it is expected that not a ton of content is available at launch. With each living story they could easily add more exotic skins for various weapons.
Get rid of some RNG chests that give you weapon skins and make people take on more achievements that will give you unique weapons.
With more weapons, content, and armor, then focus on making temporary living story content a lot better.

3. More Dungeons
In the world all of the Dungeons are directly related to the story, and are long and (Sometimes) hard to complete. Add easier, medium sized dungeons that relate to the local area (Ex: A Mini Inquest lab dungeon) these could be less rewarding however could add a new dailey achievement category and could be fun to complete as well as provide Rares for ectos.

4. Large group dungeons (8 People?)
Make an even more challenging dungeon that more people can participate in. Bigger dungeons equals bigger bosses and bigger loot. A large group could create a new feeling of the different classes working together, and this could impact new builds specific for these dungeons, therefore adding a new feel to dungeon gameplay.

5. More tiers of cultural armor
I think the gap in price between the 2nd and 3rd Tier Cultural of all races. Making (Current) Tier 3 up to Tier 5 and then adding 3 and 4 in between compensating for price interval as well as adding more armor skin.
More Tiers would also allow for the Armor skins that look more class specific to be balanced and therefore allow for a wider variety of skins and styles. (Ex: Tier 3 Human Cultural looks totally Thief Directed, Add a Ranger Tier)

6. New soldier class
Currently in the game there is 3 Scholer Classes, 3 Adventurer Classes, and only 2 Soldier Classes. Adding a new soldier class in the first expansion would add a good balance to the amount of classes in the game. I have a few ideas of what classes to add one being a class similar to the Paragon.
Link to Paragon like class: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/New-Soldier-Profession

7. Devoted healer profession
A devoted healer could help in tough events and dungeons, and impacting gameplay a lot. Healing builds could also be offensive and would add a new layer of gameplay and content.

8. Keep Legendary Weapons at top class
If People are going to Grind for hours to get legendaries, their stats should stay at top class when they introduce ascended gear. Legendaries could possibly give unique skills when equipped. Overall if people are going to put the time into getting a legendary, the rewards should be more than prestige and unique skins (Some IMO are not even that Great of skins compared to some exotics.) Also, if say an expansion comes out and the level cap is increased, up the level of legendaries.

9. In game build templates? (Still customizable).
Let’s say you just started a profession that is new to you and are not quite sure how it should be played. While you can look up builds that many have created on the internet, it would be very useful to do this in game, created from game creators and inspirations taken from various fan made builds. You could either incorporate this into the game at the creation screen, or maybe once you reach a certain level, say 40?

10. Make Living Story More Permanent Content, Such as a Dungeon that Stays.
Guild Wars 2 is a young game. If living story is going to continue, they should focus on adding content that would be able to change the world as well as add more content that will stay in the game.

11. Add more Endgame areas
Right now there is three main endgame areas: Orr, Frostgorge Sound, and Southsun Cove. All of these are fun and exciting areas that award 80’s for leveling and completing this area. (Adding More Dynamic Events here would increase desire to come back) Add more of these areas, I would be glad to explore more areas like these.
These areas would keep level 80’s playing. It would also allow more potential for other world events and bosses.

I love some of the ideas OP, but unfortunately Anet has either recently, or addressed most of these in the past.

1. Mounts.

I think it was near launch Anet said they didn’t plan to include real mounts into the game. We have the waypoints instead which save us time from running around once we open them, granted a lot of them still force us to run where we need to go. Though, at least it makes us slightly less lazy. I think some of the main reasoning behind not adding mounts is so they’re not in line with every other MMO that uses mounts for speed-travel.

2. Skins

Anet makes a good amount of money off the gem stores selling skins for armor and weapons. Rarely will we get skins handed to us now, either they’ll be crafted, looted (new champ weapon drops) RNG based, or based on the current updates new/old currency. I think the gem store is going so well Anet is capable of sustaining themselves. Which also means they’ll be in no rush to do a traditional Xpac if they so choose.

3. Dungeons
I think the only real dungeon dev left was Hrouda, and he’s no longer with Anet. The only thing we’re getting dungeon wise is 3 new fractals around the end of the year. Otherwise, I wouldn’t count on more dungeons being added anytime soon.
For smaller, easier dungeons, I suppose you haven’t heard of mini-dungeons?
Look up Vexxa’s Lab.

4. Large groups for dungeons

Colin stated at the recent PAX event that the chances of more than 5 people to an instanced dungeon is almost non-existant.

5. More tiers of cultural armor

Cultural armors are a waste at lower levels, and they’re ideally just skins for your race anyhow, just wait until your 80 has enough to buy them, I don’t really care for cultural stuff anyhow.

6. New class

Again, Anet stated the chances of a new class are extremely slim. They feel they’ve covered the bases with the current classes, but if they were ever to introduce a new class, it would be a heavy so there’s three of each.

7. Devoted healer profession

Anet hates the trinity system, they don’t want their dungeons to be like every other MMORPG. If you want that, look elsewhere.

8. Keep Legendaries at top class

That would be un-fair to people who don’t have the time or ability to craft them. It’s not so much a QQ as Legendary’s are there for what they are, to show you spent a long time building a cool skin to show-off. Ascended is top-tier as of now, and Legendary’s are buffed up to them just to be fair. I don’t see why skins deserve to be top-tier.

9. In-game build templates

Colin stated at PAX a team is working on it. They don’t have an ETA or any idea how close the design or idea for it is. If it ever comes out though, it’ll start for PvP since it’s simpler to add it to that first, then it will make it’s way towards PvE and WvW.

10. Permanent LS

Colin stated a month or two ago they understand the aggravation of the fans being treated to temporary content, but the Gauntlet and Pavilion was the last piece they need for their yearly portfolio of returnable events. Expect new permanent content soon, Tequatl is getting revamped to be harder and more rewarding on the 17th.

11. More end-game zones

They’re working on it I believe, but they’re still getting the core of the game down, fixing and polishing, etc. (News from PAX as well)
When the game’s core is designed to their satisfaction, they’ll start adding zones and races and new weapons. They’ll even give some classes weapons they’re not available to.

I’m not trying to shoot your ideas down man, they’re all pretty good, but Anet doesn’t want to be a generic MMORPG (although the direction the game has been going in lately, it might’ve stretched a little too far)

All this is actual news except the Legendary’s being top-tier.
Sorry to crush your wish list though.

  1. Mounts have been discussed to death. And I don’t see them happening. There is simply no need for mounts with the ton of waypoints we have, not to mention that mounts in WvW could break the whole game.
  2. Well, they need to sell something or the Gem Store won’t work as their model for making money. And they are already selling various skins directly in the Gem Store. And no, adding more skins is not easy. First off, you need to have a design. Second off, you need to make sure the design works on all races. Third off, you need to program the dying. It’s a ton of work, some of which is purely creative, thus you cannot just churn them out ad infinitum.
  3. Pretty sure they’re already doing that. They’re adding, I think, three new fractals, two of which were previously dungeons in the Living Story.
  4. Colin said in an interview that it’s extremely unlikely that they will be making instanced content for more than 5 people.
  5. Again, adding more skins is not easy. And changing something that’s already been in the game for a while is always problematic. The current T3 is rare, so most people buy transmutation crystals for it. Make the T3 into Exotic and you’ll have those people complaining that they should be compensated.
  6. New classes, blargh. There are other things which are much simpler to do, such as allowing a wider array of weapon selection on the current profession or adding new weapons and both of those were kinda handwaved by Colin in some interview.
  7. No, no no. The game was designed from ground up with no healer profession. Adding one now would definitely break any resemblance of balance that we have. We already have builds that are capable of healing your allies via Water Fields, not to mention stuff like Regeneration.
  8. Legendaries were upgraded to Ascended stats and ANet has said that Legendary will always be at the top stat level.
  9. Again, they’ve said that it’s something they’re thinking of. But even if it ever happens, it’ll happen to PvP before PvE because PvP is much simpler to implement.
  10. Living Story has plenty of recurring content. And currently the dungeons that we have gotten will be thrown in as Fractals in the future. And besides, it’s supposed to change, so adding stuff and leaving it there is kinda going against the whole idea.
  11. We already have dungeons, not to mention Dynamic Levels and, as was shown with Scarlet’s invasions, they can put in endgame stuff without adding new areas.
