Guild Wars 2 bootable/portable version
I don’t see why that couldn’t be done as is, given a drive big enough. I’m not sure they’re made for that kind of wear and tear though.
Yeah, pretty sure you can already do it. GW2 only needs a couple of files to run: the .exe the .dat and the folder for the trading post browser. USB file transfer rates tend to not be super amazing though, so you’re severely hampering the games performance. I really don’t understand the point.
As a personal item you can create that easily yourself as FlamingFoxx mentions but as a product this would not work very well.
As a product you would need to include a graphics card and enough ram to run GW2 at acceptable levels in addition to the SSD.
For a while I was playing GW1 from an external hard drive and the only difference was it loaded slightly slower and I had to go into the folder instead of having a shortcut on the desktop.
I can’t see any reason GW2 would be any different.

GW1 or 2 both are portable. Just copy all the files in whatever media you want and game will run.

It’s not different, but GW2 is a much bigger game so the difference in loading times would be a lot more noticeable obviously.
If you run it from a USB3 HDD, you can already create your own ‘portable’ GW2 without much in the way of downsides versus a standard internal HDD. Of course, whatever you plug it into needs to be able to run it. Plus, lets face it, if you’re on a computer often enough, you’d just install GW2 on that anyway.
A 32GB USB3 Flash Drive would work just fine for this.
yeah.. get a 32GB USB drive and copy the whole GW2 folder . you’re done.
