Guild Wars 2 is fun.
Nope, no clue. I play everyday and spend my lunches reading the forums and planning what I am going to do when I get home tonight and there is still this huge list that I am trying to get to including leveling alts, WvW, SPvP, Orr, 100%ing and getting into a good dungeon guild and Checking if Straits of Devestation is fixed yet which will give me hours of play on my main since I love that zone but the invasions at the beginning being broken put me off going further into Orr.
So yea idk if you aren’t having fun anymore then don’t play it doesn’t make you a bad person for not enjoying a videogame.

I hate to be honest, but it may be for the best. I’ve been logging in quite a few hours into torchlight 2 and I am loving it.
I hate dungeon crawlers. Bought D3 for nostalgia reasons and it just made me remember why I moved on from that game style.

Hehe, you bought diablo 3. That isn’t a dungeon crawler as it more or less an auction house simulator. However, if you don’t like that style of gameplay, I cannot fault you for that. I loved it back then, and I love it today. still hate diablo 3 though
I have enjoyed this game immensely up until anet started “limiting” drops and even the amount of experience/karma/copper you get from DEs..
I am losing interest in not only this game but from any future anet products, getting on my “funcom” list of failed devs is hard but getting off of it is impossible..
I would like to point out that i have never once used any exploits yet im being treated like a botter or even worse a cheater, i hope anet wins the battle against bots because they are losing the war to keep loyal fans in the process..
They promise fun but deliver a criminal sentence of limited service and its just cheezy..

I play a little bit lesser than when I first started… but I think part of that has to do with waiting on guildies to get to level 80 as well so we have more groups for explorable dungeons (and given the recent changes, there might be a better desire to do them). I help level them, but it’d be nice to get some credit for helping them do their personal story (xp, maybe kick in a little coin).
I am enjoying GW2 immensely. There’s still a good deal of content I have not seen at all. My highest character turned 77 last night and she will likely hit 80 with a few zones still untouched.
I have not turned to crafting yet with any seriousness and that’s definitely something I want to do. I have been having fun trying out various professions and have three alts I’ve been playing fairly regularly with that in mind.
I will probably never again immerse myself in a game to the degree that I did a few years ago, i.e., logging in every day for several hours because I felt I had to in order to keep up. GW2 is a perfect fit in terms of pace.

However, with that said, anyone else losing interest already?
Not trying to bash arena.net. I applaud them for this beautiful game, but I am finding myself logging in less and less. I hope it’s not because I am insatiable. Just something in this game isn’t closing the deal for me so far.
This game has decent PvP, but I feel a little left out in the cold via the PvE department. Anyone have any suggestion on what I could do to fill that void?
Yes, I have already lost interest and thats why I am back in World of Warcraft, just in time for Mists of Pandaria today!
I do hold out hope that perhaps the game can recover and arenanet can add some real depth to the end game. Not this end game starts at level 1 silliness.
Razamis, is WoW the only other MMORPG you’ve ever played? Sure sounds like it.

No, I started with Everquest.
I also played Aion, SWTOR, Warhammer, Everquest 2, Neverwinter Nights (Krynnhaven persistent server), Eve, and others =P
However, without a doubt, World of Warcraft is the best.

I sincerely hope you have lots of fun!
But you’ll be back … Muahahahahaha

“Oh boy, it would be so cool if ArenaNet changed their entire philosophy on this game so I could enjoy it! Even if it means it would be a kick in the face for the people who were informed consumers and knew what they were buying.”
OP, nothing’s wrong with taking off from the game. You had fun. That’s really all that matters. Keep an eye on the GW2 site, though. From what I gather, they’re gonna announce some new content soon-ish.

Not me. I look forward to the times when I can log in and play. I surf the forums here at work. If nothing else, the forums illustrate how differently so many of us see this game. Or perhaps its just gaming in general.
In any case, I’m still enjoying the game with 5 alts & 5 crafting skills off and running. 3 more alts to follow for a full house of classes eventually.

I always play two games at once. I rotate between GW2 and Tekken Tag Tourny 2 at the moment.
GW2 has plenty of content, but you can have too much of a good thing. Take a break for a day or two and come back.
Don’t worry, you’ll still get more and more out of it. Make absolutely sure that you come back around Halloween…I have a feeling it’s going to be epic.

Ya, I still log in every nite. Wife yells at me lots. I surf forums at work. I still consider taking off work to play. Its just fun. PvE was a hoot (tho I thought leveling went too fast). And now I’m horribly addicted to WvW and bettering my toon. PvE is a lil shelved but I wouldn’t be surprised if I go back to it soon.

I’m only in my low lvl 50’s. I have had fun so far but I am losing interest I find. The reason being is that a lot of the recent events I’ve encountered have been bugged. Or there is nobody in the zone to do a group event.
I got this game basically for the PvE and these problems are really impacting my enjoyment. I don’t want to have to travel to some other zone just to try and find a non-bugged event. I just want to be able to play through the game the way I was playing. Kind of frustrating to be honest.
we need a full contact VR mmo already
its because the weapon and utility skills are not cool or enjoyable for most. Lost interest in my 80 guardian cause all you really have are spells you click and do a little effect most are defensive to no cool flashy offensive skills. And the weapons skills are not all that enticing like for instance the scepter SLOW moving orb. Yea I think slow moving orbs Are enjoyable too Anet.
I’m still enjoying GW2 immensely. It’s a solid game and I suspect it’ll thrive for quite some time. There’s a few features it could do with adding, though I’ll patiently await content patches.
I suspect some people are just burned out after playing excessively.
To be perfectly honest.
I’m at lvl 47 now on my necro, and I do find myself playing less and less. It is quite a bit of fun, but it does start to feel more of the same. Same 5-10 skills, same 3-6 utilities. Kill mobs, find DE, aoe down waves of mobs, etc.
Just not enough variety in the fights/builds to the point where you feel like you’re doing the exact same thing as you did in the past zones. However I’ve been trying to immerse myself in the lore/story with the zones to make it more interesting and I’m definately loving the atmosphere of some the Norn zones I’m in.
I’ve gotten sick of Spvp for the most part, everyone playing the same few classes, and 8v8 just getting on my nerves as well as the same maps. I don’t think I’ll be bothering much until I can make some friends to do Tpvp with.
WvW just destroys my FPS too much to be really enjoyable. Certain particle effects and just some parts in the environment just randomly murder my FPS and makes simple 20 v 20 zergfests with people spamming drop me to 5 fps. (Some areas with 0 other players can just randomly drop me to 12 fps from 25-30 as well).
But other than that, it’s a “bit o’ fun”. Currently just looking to find a decent guild of like-minded players that would like to level up with. Playing pve solo in this game just gets boring too fast. =p
this game consumes my mind. please, arenanet, nerf my place of employment so i can leave already.

Sorry but, if i’ve missed something, what else does this game have to offer? I’ve been there and done that for everything now, and there’s nothing that’s fun left to do in the game for myself.
I’ve spent hours just walking around Hoelbrak looking and talking to npcs… found underwater tunnels in Lion’s Arch and underwater cities where I thought there would be nothing but fish.
I’m pretty sure you missed a lot of things, but you’re never going to see them anyway, so…
Haven’t logged in since borderlands 2 came out.
Found many places like that including the ones you’ve mentioned. Once you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all really! I’ve explored everywhere apart from WvW and found the majority of what was to be found in every area, most turn out just to be a jumping puzzle that I can’t be bothered with
Exactly.
yea i know what you mean… i used to play rift.. and for a whole year i found myself wanting to get home to play it… guildwars 2 doesnt have that same … kinda… pull… but when i do play it i have alot of fun.. an maybe in fits and starts this game will last me a while

Well said and I am feeling the same. The first nerf to CoF really turned me off and I haven’t felt much like playing since.
Not sure if anyone else suggested this already, but do you know if you may have oh just… ‘overplayed’ the game? I’ve had a few people literally play it day in and day out and got extremely burned out. GW2 is great but I don’t think it was meant to be played non stop. I’m not even 80 yet and i’m enjoying the hell out of it, while a friend of mine rushed to 80 and literally told me that he couldn’t play it anymore because he played too much of it.
I found myself barely logging in for the last week, and when I did, then only out of a sense of duty to my guild… and then, today, after they finally, FINALLY fixed the bugged skill challenges, I finally got my map completion on all 3 Orr maps. World completion has been my main goal since I created that character.
And now that I don’t have to wade through these skrittholes again for a long time to come, I suddenly feel all pumped to get back into the game again.
I honestly wasn’t aware that it was this one specific thing that was dampening my motivation for the game, but there it was. One hurdle, holding me back.
Obviously, that’s only my own, subjective experience, but maybe others who lost their motivation have run into similar things.
Hmm no i cant say im losing interest yet—I just played 15 minutes of the panda bear game that dropped tonight and couldnt wait to get back here—thaaat game is getting old.
“Not sure if anyone else suggested this already, but do you know if you may have oh just… ‘overplayed’ the game?”
People are used to monthly sub games… if you pay $15 for a month to try it out, you want to see as much as possible in that month and if you cancel your sub when the month is up you can’t go back to it.
But you own this game. It’s yours, and will still be yours in six months. You can play one day a week for months without spending another dime. Or play for a weekend, do other things for a while, and come back to the game next month. It’ll still be here.
I’m not sure if any MMO I’ve played has compared to Guild Wars 2 as far as how fun, engrossing and generally well-made it is. That is not to say the game is without problems. . . but those problems pale in comparison to the improvements Anet has made on the genre, and the potential this franchise has 6 months or 1 year down the line.
Give them a minute and I bet you’ll be looking at something truly awesome, beyond comparison.
I had fun leveling my ranger to 80, getting the gear, crafting, ect. (This is the only mmo with a crafting system I could stand). I played around with some alts but leveling up via exploring/events/hearts does get repetitive after a while. sPvP was enjoyable for a while too but hotjoins seem to be full of kittens all the time now. The thing that most dampens it for me is it seems to lack much of an actual social aspect. People converge on an event area and then disperse and go about doing whatever without saying a word. Dungeons are pretty exclusive, so unless you play with friends already it’s kind of hard to make them in-game, since dungeon groups apparently weren’t designed for pickups. I’ve tried out a few different guilds, but they also just seem like a mass of players doing their own thing using gu as a broader lfg channel for pick up dungeon runs occasionally. This could just be my experience.
Some of it is just me. I like getting rewards proportional to the work I put into a dungeon. I also have little interest in the jumping puzzle aspect or world completion itself. I may still hop on to do some sPvP from time to time, but right now I’m kind of lacking things that I personally find fun to do.
As others have said though, maybe you just need a break, or perhaps it is a sign that this won’t be a game that holds your attention for the long term.
It is strange. It is almost like different people like different things. It is crazy. Played EQ , wow, aion, rift, swtor, Tera, and I can say GW2 is the first one ive played since my addiction to wow back in the day, I cant stop thinking about it and what I want to do next. got my thief 80 rushing things, now I am casually strolling through on a Guardian.
It has been awhile since a game has launched with 2 different leveling areas so just making an alt doesnt make me want to poke my eyes out because I am doing all the same things over again.
Of course like all things everyone gets burned out sometime, for example WoW was my first true MMO addiction but its done. I just cant go back. Nothing there do i care about or want to see. You can only rush to the new max level and grind gear on alts so many times in the same setting.

I have grown bored of this game as well. I just enjoy Arena matches and the big Battle Grounds WOW has to offer rather than GW2 pvp. I dont do any PVE and I was hoping GW2 would be my main pvp game but it doesn’t do anything for me. I am just glad there is no monthly sub.
This game is perfect for me. I’m kinda antisocial, i played D3 before this game with some friends, but D3 is just way too antisocial even for me. After friends left D3 the public games made me feel like suicidal lonely, i can’t believe how antisocial that game is and like i said ..i’m actually antisocial.
This game is simply perfect. Even when i’m not playing with friends the Dinamic Events and human interaction is bliss. I’m not even rushing the game. I’m just exploring and completing maps in main story areas and helping ppl along the way, it’s the perfect game for ppl like me.
I have not logged in for 2+ weeks. Started feeling bored so took a break. Half the reason I’m posting is that I wanted to login and make sure my account wasn’t hacked.
My friends tell me GW shines after expansions and such are released so pretty much waiting for that. For now dungeons and leveling feel too grindy.
I’m playing less than at launch, but only because I had to go back to work from vacation.
Love playing my Guardian in WvW. The class is an almost perfect balance between support and offense.
WvW itself is the perfect mix between a battleground and a virtual world. I know if I log in for 30 minutes or 3 hours I will be able to fill the time with almost non-stop action. Same with farming in Orr, though I spend less time there: instant, thoughtless PvE action.
And I’m hooked up with a great guild, the best in any MMO I’ve played so far.
For the little amount of content that’s on offer currently
Yeah, “lack of content”. Love that when I see it. Let’s see, I’ve played 140 hours since the start (that’s like more than 4 hours a day btw, not hardcore but clearly not “casual”), I have :
- 80% map completion
- participated in a ton of events, world events and bosses included
- 10 jumping puzzles
- 2 crafted disciplines @400
- done one path of one dungeon in explorable mode
- personal story to lvl 70
- played 5 hours of WvW on only one map
- played 10 hours in sPvP trying out one build
- done one session of 2 hours of tPvP with my guild
That’s already nice and pretty varied I would say. BUT, what I still can do :
- kill zaitan !
- explore the last 20% of the map
- participate in one of the dozens events I missed on each map, especially the world bosses I missed
- max out my successes (like all regions or mobs killing)
- try out another profession
- try out a new race and a new personal story
- 15+ jumping puzzles, the hardest ones
- 6 crafting disciplines to max out
- get any piece of exotic gear
- learn how to use the Mystic Forge
- get a Legendary
- do all the dungeons in all modes
- test various PvP builds and optimize them
- win my first tournament in PvP
- play on the Eternal Battlegrounds
- kill one world boss in WvW
- take one castle in WvW
- explore the lore that is hidden everywhere, like the books in Ascalon
- play organs !
- …
I’ll just stop there as the list is much bigger. And it could event include things that are still not present but will be free in the future, like Halloween or Christmas parties in GW1. There is so much to do in fact that the hardest part is knowing where to begin with.
You have the rights to say that you find most of those things boring and against that there is nothing to say.
But that’s not what you say. You say “there’s no content”. It’s not a matter of personal opinion here, it’s intellectual honesty. There’s no other word to describe your statement other than : bullkitten.
I played around 10 hours a day when it first came out. Now I’m done with my guardian, I’ve started playing a mesmer that is level 17 at the moment and yes, I’m logging in the game far less than before. It is now like 3 hours a day, no more. I really love this game, I’m almost a fanboy but I’m really, really worried about it.
The fact is that, endgame content is the one and only reason for decreasing online count and hour, ANet should come up with a new design as soon as possible because nobody really cares for winning pointless and unnecessary buffs for their servers or shiny legendary weapons.
There should be stuff like personal wvwvw rankings, guild rankings, items purchased with ranking points etc

Haha same here and others I played with on this game! Quite a fun game actually, a good co-op game!
Just sounds like a lot of the things this game offers, you don’t find interesting. That’s okay. It’s not to everyone’s taste. For example, I like the jumping puzzles, and I don’t feel that “once I’ve seen one area, I’ve seen them all.”
I spent over an hour swimming in the sewers under Lion’s Arch. Probably boring for some. I found it fun though.
Well sir, I find “haters” as funny as you find “fanboys”.
It’s indeed funny that you made a long post full arguments that are in fact supporting what I said. You didn’t deny -at all- that there are a lot of things to do, all you post was just a bunch of “I don’t find that fun” to each and every example of things I listed.
Thank you then for proving my point : there is a lot of content (as my list proved it), but not everyone will find it fun. Which is pretty obvious I know, but only haters and fanboys do not understand that.
I am still waiting for some progress-breaking bugs to be resolved, then I will probably be back online too.
