The only MMORPG game I have played extensively other than Guild Wars was Runescape. I started back in 2010 as a kid, right around the time when free trading and the wilderness were reintroduced, and before the bot nuke of 2010. the MMO scene was completely new to me. I was instantly hooked, easily playing 8-12 hours a day or more. I played runescape 24/7 until about 2012.-2013. Over my RS career, I managed to get my Hunter and woodcutting skills to level 99, accumulated about 100m in gold and all my other stats were around level 80.
I tried getting back into RS in late 2015, but quit due to the constant grinding involved with the game (Runescape it widely accepted as one of the most grindy MMO’s ever.) It started feeling more like a job rather than playing a game. The thing about Runescape is you cant PvP unless you have a lot of money to spare, because when you die you lose everything on you, no matter how expensive (The only exception is if you didn’t attack your opponent first, but even then you only get to keep 3 items of your choice.) If you want to be able to compete in the PvP scene, you must buy the best healing food which are Rocktails, and they happen to be very costly. I could easily burn through my 100m cash stack in a week of only doing PvP, without a doubt.
Back aches and soar eyes eventually got the best of me, so I stopped playing the game altogether and focused my time to my Xbox One. I was watching a review for some other MMO on youtube and in the comment section, someone mentioned a game called Guild Wars. Bored out of my mind, I decided to look the game up. Impressed with what I saw, I ended up downloading the game and here I am now.
I clearly made the right decision, I finally found a MMO game where the developers did it right.
