“The best defense is a strong offense.”
Guild Wars vs Guild Wars 2
“The best defense is a strong offense.”
Now obviously those are just figures I pulled out of thin air
I’m afraid that that is the beginning and end of it right there. There is absolutely no basis other than anecdotal evidence, to say that people are doing pretty much what they did in GW1.
In GW1, after the advent of heroes, people who knew the missions no longer had to stand around in town spamming to do them, they just took off. I know I did. People also spent a portion of their time in guild halls. Then there were the PvP lobbies, RA, TA, and HA.
You would never know except in your own guild or friends’ list, probably, how many people were doing PvE because everything was instanced. Now, if a zone is empty, it’s empty, the only difference is from server to server.
If you play them, there’s almost no overlap in terms of how the game goes. Instances and skills and 2 class vs 1 and choosing a layout vs not and a world vs a lobby and dynamic events vs fetch-me-quests and can’t jump vs jump dodge n roll all the time and gw1 you have your own heros no need for party…
There’s no big player things in gw, nothing like the Shatterer or retaking a temple or a keep.
Trading post vs player-to-player trade is radically different in feel and approach.
Aside from lore, I don’t see much resemblance.
Now obviously those are just figures I pulled out of thin air…
Thoughts?
How can you pull figures out of thin air and use them as a basis for a serious argument?
Okay, I’ll bite. I think 99% of the people playing Guild Wars 2 think it’s the greatest game ever, while the other 1% are on these forums. Thoughts?

People were doing that before heroes.
