Guild chat does not work at this moment. If you do want it to work here is the solution:
Go to friends list and set yourself to invisible. Then turn it back on online

Tip: Ask your guild leader to set this in message of the day to every1 can see it

Works for now, thanks for the tip.

Keep in mind there are reports of the game crashing when setting to invisible. It doesn’t happen to everyone.

Just log back in and set yourself to online and the guild chat will be fixed.

An alternate temp fix was to represent each guild you belong to. That fixed the chat issues even after relog. However now I can chat but nothing appears after sending it.

They are working on a perm fix as stated by an ANet in game player.
