I sort of agree. Well at least for those who got the collectors/deluxe editions. sucks I paid 150$ for extra things, and I never received a legacy armor for free while others will. I also bought Krytan armor for my ranger so all well. not really complaining, makes sense business wise, and I knew what I was buying when I gave my 150.

You bought game earlier and you got to play it. They are adding incentives to get new sales. This is normal. Next time, you can wait until game has been out for a year before buying and you will get great deals too.

This may sounds bit negative but people seem so entitled to everything. It’s bit shocking.

Value that we get from GW2 is amazing. Pay one time and no monthly fee. This is one of cheapest form of entertainment you can get. Subjectively, it is best MMO on the market right now.

Why?

If you buy a cell phone and the store decided from a point to start including a free SD card with every cell phone purchase, do you expect the store to go trough its records and send a free SD card to everyone that purchased a cell phone since last year?.

You also get the stuff if you buy the digital deluxe upgrade (which I did yesterday as it was on sale).

If only life worked that way… I have like 100 video games that I paid $40+ for, they are now selling for like $5… I could be rich if I was entitled to retroactively get the current offer for everything i’ve ever bought…

I fail to see how you were “screwed” as you put it. Did you not receive exactly what the box said you would receive when you bought it?

And you played for a year. The only items in the Heroic Edition have been available to you for the entire year. I know doing dailys/map completion/personal stories/achievement chests I’ve gotten well over 10 exp boosters over the past year. Plus at Wintersday last year we got a free 15-slot box. An 18 slot box only costs 1-2g or a 20 slot box from fractal can be “free.” As for the armor, well they’re what 500 gems?, and they’ve been in the gem store since launch.

Decient point, but you can get all of these things without buying the digital deluxe edition.

How you feel about this is a matter of perspective. If you think of the DDE as an upgrade to your account, then it is kind of annoying that your upgraded account is no longer being upgraded with the new upgrades.

Conversely, you can think of the DDE as an item bundle. If that is the case, it makes perfect sense that you don’t get new items when the bundle is updated.

I was really kitten ed off by this initially, but after thinking about it a bit, I have more or less established that while it would have been nice of them to give out the items, it is not mean that they didn’t.

I bought the Digital Delux version almost a year ago and am under no impression that I’m owed anything but a bank golem and Wolf Elite skill thingy…oh and the stupid useless town clothes hat. That’s not how things like this work at all.

There is value in having your specific edition for the last year. People buying the game now didn’t receive the last 12 months of play time that you received. So they get other incentives like reduced cost and some fluff items.

This argument applies on many levels. If precursors became cheap in 2 years you’d have a similar complaint. However if you paid a lot for your precursor, you got to enjoy your legendary for an extra two years… subtle I know.

You purchased the game at that particular time, when it contained that particular package for that particular price.

If you wanted to receive the current particular package at current particular price, you should have waited until today to purchase it.

As the same with everything else in life, you are never entitled to the current promotional offer if you bought X before the promotional offer started. Also, it is not ethically or morally wrong for Z company to not offer you Y promotional offer because you bought X item before the promotional offer.

Everyone who purchased whatever version they purchased knew exactly what they were getting. You don’t get to dispute it after the fact if a new offer is available, that’s just stupid.

You paid X$ for Y, received your Y product and you were happy.

A year later Y is available for X$, but now comes with Z!

Now you are no longer happy?
