Guild wars 2 So far?
You can post more than one message in a thread, you don’t have to break up your message over two threads, just post part 2 after part 1.
Good job.

Part 2 —-—
The Transition from Gw1 to Gw2 – Now now now this is something that I really haven’t enjoyed so far about the game, and I really mean that it’s been a huge let down on this front :S, Mini’s are bought via Gems I hate that, there is no cosmetic based stuff in this game at the moment Like tonics, everlasting fireworks all those quirky things players loved to collect in Gw1 to make their character stand out, while Minipets are very lack lustre in my opinion are next to unnoticeable most of the time I just feel really let down as this was one of my favourite past times from Gw1 collecting awesome mini pets and trying to get nice everlasting tonics. And then buying weapons purely for their cosmetic looks such as Dhumm’s Scythe ^^. I just feel that there could be so much more on this front, and no don’t add it in as Gems as I can already imagine how much that will annoy people in general these should be key economic items in the game in the same way they were for GW1 because players simply wanted to stand out.
Now Guilds, what have you done lol? The clue is in the name GUILD WARS, the guilds are seriously lacking in functionality I remembered all around in Guild wars 1 GVG where great fun why is this not a feature in this game it just seems downright absurd.
And Guild halls where? Why why why they were such a fantastic feature of Guild wars 1 buying the guild hall just to suit you I think I along with a lot of other players were expecting features like this to be carried across into GW2 and are quite frankly baffled as to why they were not :S? However a positive note for the Guild I do like the upgrade system and the ability to buy Magic boost, and so forth however the Queue time for some of the stuff such as the Magic banners seems a little too lengthy for what they offer, which I feel is fair to say.
This next part is a full moan and I personally feel really let down from Anet as a company for this, and this is the constant joke taking bugs, event crashes, TP crashes, Gem store crashes, holes in the map and scenery causing you to get stuck, getting perm stuck in combat…. Look I’m aware that the game is still relatively new but even now the game is ridden with bugs and event crashes daily and I feel that as a company this game at the moment has been launched half completed :S Now a fair note to you guys is that you tend to fix most of them but the fact they are still happening in large scale this far into the game is slightly unacceptable and can really hinder a players enjoyment of the game.
Now in general these are a few of the key points I was wanting to discuss, and I felt it was needed as I want this game to survive and thrive and I want it to be successful and allow players to enjoy it to its full potential and feel that it’s not achieving anywhere near its full potential so far sadly, there is also this huge topic on end game content which I have decided to leave out of this post for now.
Please leave a comment and provide any opinions you have about this
I read all your post OP. I like to comment on a few. (:
1. I agree with you on crafting and money problems. I’m a low level but still I feel like there is no way no how to make really good money in this game. I hate the Gold/Silver/Copper route in games immensely. I already knew by seeing we will have that we will have tough time making money lol.
Crafting is a huge let-down as for income. To be honest, I have never been the crafter type in games, I decided to try it here. It’s fun in a way but I can’t even make a buck out of it so…I’m crafting for nothing lol. Basically the economy of the game is pretty bad.
2. The transition to GW and GW2. I never played the first one which I think was released in 06’? So I am not sure if the start of GW had all those things you say, mind you, GW has been up many years with many contents. With that being said, GW2 just released like you said so as forr Guild Halls and little knick-knacks for looks. I am sure they will come eventually. First is they need to fix the millions of bugs in the game then continue on with the fun stuff. It’s crappy I know. The help of community with nice feedback like this. I’m sure Anet will take a look-see because a lot of stuff needs to be fixed and implemented.
Crafting in any MMO is typically not a good way to make huge profit margins… simply because supply and demand will always keep such things in balance, meaning the clicking of buttons to “craft” something will not be unique to the crafter (excluding RNG for better output like eq2). For example, I’m a lvl400 leather worker… and I bought a full explorer’s set rather than make it myself because it’s just as easy to sell my mats off and cover the difference. The crafter made his silver… and I saved myself some time.
Also, crafting sets are unique… not drops. Granted most don’t look all that great but some are in more demand than others. Light/Heavy seem to have found sets they like from crafting… since they’re all over the place.
I’m perfectly okay with them adding all cosmetic items as gem purchases… let my RNG dictate rares to dust, etc and I can buy what I want in order of priority. I can’t count the number of things I didn’t get due to crappy RNG.
Maybe I’m just jaded from other MMOs which were actually full of game-breaking bugs and problems that seriously impacted one’s gameplay, but the issues GW2 has had really haven’t bugged me at all.
So the TP is down, I just throw the stuff in the bank for a while. Sometimes I run into a bugged event but I just leave and look around for a working one and that doesn’t take long. Never gotten stuck or fallen through the world yet, I expect that will happen eventually.
I’m not saying ArenaNet shouldn’t be fixing these bugs but this is still one of the more polished MMOs I’ve ever played.
Perhaps the general standards of the genre are being raised. Certainly RIFTS and SWTOR were well polished too (though I understand they had their share of bugs). I suppose that’s a darn good thing to see and long overdue for the MMO genre.
