Electro blue has been over 1000g for months which isn’t right a dye shouldn’t be bumping shoulders with precursors and legendaries(underwater). All because Anet wont add certain dye packs back into the shop to restock the supply.
When I was looking at past sales they usually started the Friday before the anni. I was expecting for it to start this coming Friday. But I could be wrong. Just a guess.

I believe the Royal Terrace Pass is only available during Wintersday event in December. I remember waiting and waiting to get mine last year since it is only available once a year (so far).

Ummm… well yeah, the permanent pass only works on one character at a time. I usually move it to whichever character I’m playing that day. Unless it’s no longer account bound and I didn’t notice, one only needs to perform the overly onerous chore of dragging and dropping the pass through the bank. I guess that’s too difficult and time-consuming for some. I’d rather have one stop shopping than bounce around the world.

Yep. Not that big a deal. End of the day, go to bank and deposit the Pass, copper fed, harvesting tools. Beginning of day, go to bank and pick up Pass, copper fed, harvesting tools. It only takes a minute at the beginning and end of each day to do this, then you can enjoy the convenience of having all the NPCs, banks and mystic forge within a few feet of each other.

That day? Unless I am specifically leveling someone I cycle through several characters each afternoon. True, a trip to the bank does not take up much time, especially since the area between the bank and the merchant is my home base when in LA, but I can see it getting annoying fast when trying to do a fast swap to another character like when both of them have time-limited buffs going or one is parked nowhere near a bank. Not that it is hugely critical: I typically travel with mainly 20 slot bags and only stop to unpack chests when I am in a city.
Hmm, I wonder what will be on sale today? Hopefully when/if character slots go on sale it will not go up to the normal price after buying just one.
Having one pass is better than no pass. I might buy another one in December just for the convenience or even the ship pass if I happen to see it available. When I can’t be bothered to swap the pass, I just go to the places mentioned above to craft/buy/get free transport. Like most things, it’s convenient to have but you can live without it.

Presumably then you don’t have one copper fed salvage or one set of gem store harvesting tools either. Since you don’t, then I can see why you aren’t used to switching out gem store convenience items. Those of us that do have one set of these have gotten used to going by the bank to switch out as needed.

mesmer: Teq, then head back to LA, when done there wp to wait for the wurm
warrior: jump to orr to grab a vista
engineer: head over to the shiverpeaks to do a bit of mining, back to LA
mesmer: do wurm, still have buffs from the Teq banner during it, back to LA
warrior: have some buffs from a nearby banner before, jump over to mine T6s in Cursed Shore and assault the temple at Arah, back to LA
At various times log in my guardian and elemenalist to do a bit of crafting
Oh yeah, log in my alt account so I do not forget the login reward there
This is a typical day. All of my buffed characters still had their buffs after the second event due to some close timing but stopping at the bank all the time would REALLY present an annoyance.
Nice. Thanks for the heads up. I hope they have characters slots for sale for my Revenant as the 2 that I got from prepurchasing mysteriously filled up with new chars and one somehow even got to level 80 and stole the other warrior’s ascended gear. >.>

It’s their new(ish) tactic of trying to drive the gem:gold ratio up. If you can only buy things in a time limited period with no actual certainty of its return it massively drives up the in game currency:real money currency ratio.

Indeed they have. People act like they are surprised (and yet oddly, people have been asking when this would start this year because they had been waiting for it. Go figure.)
Don’t look at me like that. Whatever you’ve heard, it’s probably not true.
We had a sale like this last year. They are going to bring back stuff and players are going to empty their gold reserve and maybe new players might drop some coin on gems to buy it. The only “new” thing is it’s twice as long and that’s probably have more to do with the current lack of Shop updates.
As for the rate spike, last year it was roughly 33% but there’s been a spike already when the account kits came out Tuesday. Of course the spike goes both ways so cash rich players may keep the spike in check with converting bought gems into gold.
So nothing to see here really other than the angry few complaining that ANet has the audacity of trying to make money.

Was that the reason why there wasn’t a birthday celebration on year one and year two. I was wondering. Too bad it’s not like Guild Wars 1 where they had celebrations even when they were working on an expansion.
