So i checked out the recently released feature patch on 9 september. And after that i watched a wooden potatoes review of the patch. And he to my suprise mentioned that the heart quest in the early level maps were simplified in such a stupid way like those traditional mmos that i dont like at all. Example the heart in queensdale that u get to do first with the cows and crops and wurms. Now u cant take bags of feed and feed the cows but all u have to do is press f to the cows and fill up the heart bar.. WHAT? this happend?! supposably because some birdbrains found it too hard to take water buckets and pour it into the crops or take food to feed the cows. Many people apparently whined that it was too complicated?! What? So anet decided to make it much much much more easier and make the hearts really simple and boring. Just like quests u get on those mmos. At first when WP said this i thought they did this too all hearts in every map. I almost lost my mind than but i heard him out fully and it was just early leveling maps. But still those are 5 maps! That new players get to start with and feel that uniqeness of Gw2. I mean these hearts and small mechanics like this is what makes gw2 such an unique and cool mmo and something that makes me keep playing it. Why make it more like those crappy mmos just to satiate the birdbrains that dont know how to pull an object. Just why are u ruining this This isnt making things easy its making them bland and boring. If u wanted to do easy u would of came up with something smarter. But please.. Fix this i miss that heart. So many chars have a nice history with that. Its fun and ruining the first experience for new players from the beginning is very bad because of other simple minded few people

Ignoring Wall-o-Text-much, I kind of agreed. Hearts were always boring, now they’re just more boring, and were designed to help ease traditional MMO players into the mindset of GW2 – as well as direct players to content such as events. Now they’re even more akin to traditional MMO quests. As is the leveling system. And the gear grind. Even the story is starting to feel less and less Guild Wars-like.

Ever since release, it feels that ArenaNet has lost its originality and innovation, and is now just a b2p model of traditional MMO stuff, slowly conforming more and more to it.

I find this very sad. And I don’t say this to complain, but rather that I feel this is what’s happening. And if I were to point a finger, I’d probably point it to Anet’s management from what I’ve heard.

This feature batch had a good amount of improvements, but I’m unsure if it’s worth the downgrading that’s geared towards all the “new players”.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
