I am logging in every day and on a couple of my characters I am not in a guild on purpose. They are my mules. But I am auto spammed with a guild invite from many guilds. How are they doing this and how can I get them to stop? The invite does not say the name of the person inviting you. I have mailed the leader of the guild doing it but no reply. Only MORE invites every time I log in. I have tried declining in the guild page but nothing works.
It is very annoying!

Indeed it is annoying, to me this is getting as annoying as gold emails as i’m being spammed with invites.

There really needs to be an option to “auto decline” guild invites – if i want to join a guild i’ll ask to join one.

Thing is it seems like a hack to me. As soon as I finish loading on a character that is not in a guild the same guild has invited me. Its like a script running that looks for players loggin in that are not in a guild, send an invite. I cant believe Anet allowed that in the guild interface?

If you just ignore the guild invite it will pop up everytime you login. You have to open up the guild panel and decline the invite.

Guild membership is account-based, so all characters you own are in all the guilds you’ve accepted. The difference is that you can only represent one guild at a time.

To know whether it’s a guild your account is in or a true invite, note where the guild is on the list. The top half of the list contains guilds your account is part of, while the bottom is guild invites.

Yes, I sent a guild leader a mail about their auto script on login. It is spam, and harassment. I’ll report them every single day.

Look at the stupid fail guild, had 1500 people or whatever. Ridiculous that this isn’t a bannable offense!

EDIT: I decline on the guild page every time. Next day on login: You are invited to GoKN or whatever again anyway.

Sorry – you said in your OP that “…on a couple of my characters I am not in a guild on purpose…” which sounded a lot like a misunderstanding of the guild system. If they truly are invites then yes, there should definitely be some way to limit or block this kind of behavior.

Hehe, my blood boils a little every time I have to take my game time (however small, it adds up) to remove unwanted spam/junk from some script-kiddie spamming so-and-so. Why is the onus on me to deal with these scammers?
AN should (if they have any decency in their bones) immediately begin “working” on an auto decline check box if they wish to allow them to continue the harassment of their customers.

How do you know they are using a script instead of just inviting you at random.

I created my own guild for 1 silver. I rep it with every toon and never get an invite from other guilds… if it bothers you that much, just create a guild called “Idontwannabeinyourguild” and rep it with your guildless toons.

Better yet, we should have a single guild called “Idontwannabeinyourguild”. It’d probably be the most powerful guild on the server. :p

Actually, it should be “We’re still developing it”.

Why would anyone need any ingame script?

This thread is full of full account names which can be used to spam gold selling / guild invites / whatever to.

ANet were foolish to display account names on a public forum tbh.

Did you decline the guild invites? If you don’t, they will keep popping up every time you log in with your character. That’s probably what is happening.

A suggestion to fix this:
I’m a noob, and playing like one, and get almost no invites. only 4-5 times so far.

play like a noob when traveling the world, use your abilities wrong if at all, and see this stops.

you have to open up the guild panel and decline the invitation or else every time you log into a character the offer window will pop up.
