Oh how I enjoyed it when I build my hunter on gw2 I loved the spirits and decided to play my hunter in a way that I could use my spirits in the best way possible.
Now with the new update stuff that is gone! The way I played my hunter isn’t possible anymore because its goneeee.
I don’t care If i need to use 2 complete traits for it to make my spirits follow me just give it back!
Same with my necro, lost some skills I loved but I can get over that!

I bet alot of people have the same problems, we paid for this game you’re now giving out for free!
Let us at least feel a bit more special then giving us a title and a suit! Let us be able to keep the old traits….

I bet there alot of people who agree with me.

You know what really sucks? People are buying TVs that are bigger and better than the one I bought three years ago for hundreds of dollars less. Do you think I should cry about that?

I fail to see how this is relevant.

@ OP:

They’ve changed the trait system a few times and it’s not the type of thing to compensate people for, the only thing would be that you were around longer than other people. There are already titles for that (Loyal, Veteran, Faithful) that you get on character birthdays.

As to the actual mobile spirit trait…I admit that it’s an odd thing for them to remove. My guess would be that they removed it so they could re-add it with a future elite spec that’s more spirit oriented. They removed the Guardian book elites as well for possible use of those animations for a possible elite spec in the future.

When the new TVs came out, the old ones didn’t stop letting you view certain channels, disable input/output ports, or remove any apps from them. The old TV works like it did when you bought it. That is what is kittening people off and it would kitten off every TV owner if when the new models came out your old TV started losing functionality that it already had for 3 years.

I’d like to thank you for making it easy to illustrate the point. Really good choice on the TV comparison.

This would never happen because it would make balancing the game impossible.

Each new or changed skill, trait etc. would have to be balanced against not just the current versions but every previous version of every skill/trait. And if anything was ever seriously overpowered or otherwise problematic at any point in time Anet, and we as players, would be stuck with it forever.

On top of which it would be a huge amount of work to satisfy everyone. You might be happy with simply reverting to the last version before the specialisations update, but if they made that possible someone else is likely to ask for the traits as they were at launch, or in March 2013, and sooner or later they would have to offer every single version to keep people happy or have endless rounds of topics on the forum from people wining about favouritism and how it proves Anet don’t care about “real” players and what they want.

I understand why you’re asking, but it’s simply never going to happen. You’d be much better off coming up with a reasoned argument for why it would be beneficial for the game to restore the lost functions you care most about (in this case I assume it’s movable spirits), or even coming up with a better version than what we had.

Unless we’re talking specifically about when analogue TV was shut down and everyone had to buy a digital TV, or separate digital box, to keep watching the channels they already had.

On the other hand my newer TV supports EPG and the old one doesn’t. Both still work for their primary purpose but having that program guide built in is nice …

You complained about how you paid for the game and now people are getting it free.

About that free thing … the same thing is going to happen again if/when they come out with another expansion. Whoever buys that will also get HoT for free.

The OP might want to have a little look see at what the people who are getting the game for free are actually getting. More than one person on the forums have referred to it as a glorified demo.

Plus, they’re called rangers (rangers that is, not the freebie crew).

Fire up the Hyperbowl ma, we’re going to town!

and then the new model comes out and your TV that supports EPG no longer has that feature because if you still want it you have to get the new model. This is the problem, not that the new one has new features. The issue is that the old one has lost features for no reason except to make the new one look better.

That’s a more akin to what happened in hellgate London. They shutdown the servers and then sold the game to a new company and everyone had to buy the game again to play online. Those that bought the original game could still play the game solo though. Kind of like those with an analog TV could still watch things on DVD or VHS or through a cable box. They just lost the ability for over the air transmissions.

Just to be clear. You never played a hunter. Hunter isn’t a class in this game, and never has been. I have a hard time taking your arguments and complaints seriously when you can’t even properly name the class you played that was apparently so important to you to be set up a certain way.

They revamped this back in June. Yes I know you are returning but unlike us who had to experiment with the new system to find what works, you benefit from published build guides using the new system.

The new system is here to stay for at least until the PvP tournament seasons are over and there will be balance changes during that time, supposedly every quarter.

We are heroes. This is what we do!
