Hey guys. I am a major Star Wars geek ( as many of us are I am sure ) for those of you who has played KOTOR 1 ( Knights Of The Old Republic ) for pc might have noticed a few things, now I am probably late and looking like a total kitten writing this, but if it hasn’t been mentioned before, the soundtrack sounds similar to that of kotor, was gw2 music made by the same musician who did kotor1 soundtrack? Also, whenever a Dredge die ( it makes several noises ) one of the noises resembles the same sound a Sith made when it was killed in kotor 1. Any thoughts? Or all coincidence. This is all for curiosity no need to bash or troll.

Yeah, Jeremy Soule composed the music for KOTOR as well.

Life is a journey.
Time is a river.
The door is ajar.

GW2 also copies EVE Online.

I mean, just look at that market place!

To be honest. Aside from the Overtune, Gwen’s theme (which is a direct port from GW1) and The Sea of Sorrows theme as well as one other track. The majority of his music in the game is very forgettable for me. Just noise in the background.

Wait, there’s music outside of character selection? I didn’t notice.

Jeremy Soule’s music has always been great and he truly outdid himself in Guild Wars 2!

No wait, thats wrong. There isnt a single MMO in the market that shares any aspect of EVE’s economy and trading system.

Guild Wars 2 may be trying to imitate it but its nowhere near the same thing.

To be honest, seems like many of the map areas has the same soundtrack as Guild Wars. They all sound very familiar, gives me deja vu. I think I even heard some factions music in there, can’t remember if it was the echovald stuff or the jade sea stuff. Argrhrhrgrh, now I’m going to have to visit Tyria 250yrs ago or look it up.

I find almost all of the GW2 soundtrack to be either instantly forgetable standard fare or brash, pom pom POM fantasy fare, which is an terrible shame after Soule’s work on Skyrim.

So: huray for custom playlists !

Send an Asura who knows math. Problem solved.

I find the music to be pretty good and a lot of it plenty memorable. Although, there is a lot of that “fanfare” stuff in the story that is pretty lack luster =/ (especially when traehearne is around…. the main story in general was just kind of lacking after the first half and even that first half was only decent; but lets not beat a dead horse).

the ending fight got nerfed so hard you don’t even really get to hear this anymore, unless you sit around at the victory party

I know what you mean. Seperate from the quick fight though, I’d say that track alone hits the soundtrack with a stamp of quality.

Yup I noticed the same about some of the soundtracks used in the game
GW2 manifesto = Morrowind
Black Citadel = Neverwinter Nights
They are not exactly the same melody and they don’t have the same rythm but they all use the same cord progression, making them very familiar.
