New to the game, but will HOT Specializations be still be viable in POF, or will we be forced to use the new ones, cause I really like the Ranger, and Thief Specializations from HOT

On paper they should. In reality, ask again in two months.

No one is going to force you to anything. All builds are and will be available at all times. Which ones will make it to the very top of the meta, however, is a different story.

I am currently enjoying my vanilla Necro build, because I have grown so tired of the Reaper. Also, the condition damage skills on vanilla Necs (Death Shroud, elite skill) are so much more fun when running a condi build!

PoF specs could end up overtuned to encourage people to play them, although given that each expansion is being sold separately rather than all being bundled together, maybe PoF elites will be on par with HoT elites because one way or another you’ll need to pay for at least one of the expansions to get access to the elite(s) you want.

Wait, what? As far as I know, new players who buy PoF additionally get the core campaign as well as HoT for free.

I do not believe HoT is free for PoF orders, at least not for the standard edition.

No, you get the core game, but not HoT. There’s an option to buy HoT at a discounted (I think) price at the same time as you buy PoF, but it’s not included for free.

Oh, I am glad to hear that. It would have been too unfair towards long-time players.

My bet is it changes at launch and Heart is free with Path purchase.

HoT and PoF are 2 different products. There is no free HoT with every PoF purchase. PoF does not require any HoT content, and your HoT masteries are useless in PoF, so there is no reason to give away HoT.

Druid is likely to remain viable, unless they kill it in a future balance patch. Tempest got more or less destroyed already, so my money’s on Weaver completely replacing it. In short – depends on the class.
