HOT masteries.. Come on Anet...
There aren’t “random” events, they’re all meta events and after quite predictable if you hang out in one map. Personally I like verdant brink, because you can solo defend a pact point (if everything scales properly) which has given me probably 20% of a level (with wvw xp boost)
Edair. But allies-allies will fight by your side”~Cobiah Mariner
Don’t rush, take your time and ENJOY the content – problem solved. :P
I agree that the farming of the maps should be the way to get the XP needed, but they could increase the XP for some events, doing a 20 minute event to get 16K XP is a joke, it should be 40K xp for events,
But
Before we used to get Writ of Experience which now take 20 to make a Tome, but they should be used as 20k XP for each one towards a mastery, as they are useless right now.
Basically there r 5 boosters u wanna have up all time, cant remeb the names but: bday booster/celeb 100% on kill, utility 15% on kill, exp booster 50% on kill with 100% additional stacking, food 15% on all, fireworks 10% on all + 20% exp on kill infusion + banners if possible +. This will make exp gaining super fast, im already t4 t5 in all HoT masteries with 5 6 hrs put in daily since release. Knowing which events to go after also helps, but the big chunk comes from tons of mobs spawning where u need a tag wep.
I used to be a power ranger, now not sure anymore
Let me share a secret with you. I killed Flame Legion for 6 hours straight so I would never have to worry about Tyria xp ever again. I am by no means a hardcore grinder, but it was a one-time sacrifice I was willing to make since it was so [blank] time effective. But there’s no way I’m gonna grind 49,530,000 xp to fully train all my HoT masteries since it would take me far longer to do so and I’m a very busy adult with bills to pay. I’ll rather create and level up 10 alt’s fully (Since that’s about the xp it requires) than grind for them since I am less restricted on the things I can do and can enjoy the game much more if I had the time. So what if this means I don’t get to truly explore 100% of the jungle, I have already accepted that fact. Unless ANet makes the grind much more reasonable by adding a farm or removing the exorbitant amount of xp required to explore every nook and cranny, then I’ll be taking my time and money elsewhere.
Yeah, I don’t find the grind versus reward worth-while and that is strictly my opinion on the current state of the game. Some people may disagree with me, as this stuff is all subjective, but that’s totally fine by me. I’m just mentioning how I handle things because I’ve been seeing way too much “This is how you should play the game”, “How dare you tell me what to do”, etc. drama going around kind of nonsense. Constructive criticism/feedback is good, but there’s no need to be bashing other people about it.
Must kill Chalk……Must kill Chalk……Must kill Chalk……Must kill Chalk……Must kill Chalk……
Grind? What Grind???
I don’t think I’ve repeated any content so far.
First zone has 5 meta events and 5 bosses at night. You find a scout and then do one of the meta event chains for its entirety. The zone can be completed 5 times before you repeat a single bit of content.
Auric Basin has 4 paths. And each path has sub events. You can do each cardinal direction more than once and often get 2-3 pylon oaths in per meta event.
I havent played around too much in Tangled Depths, but I found it ver y similar to the first zone. Find a scout and stick around the area for the meta event chain.
Everything in these new maps relies on the meta. If you are not doing the meta then you are losing out on major, MAJOR XP.
Also do Hero Points. If someone in map chat is asking for help then go help them. You get rewarded daily with close to 30k XP and some items.
Yah got to remember that this is it until they release more, and who knows when that will be. It will probably be months at the earliest before there is a new map, and that’s assuming they give us free map(s). If it’s expansion only, a year is more likely. You might as well not be rushing through it unless it’s one of the Masteries that is a reward you just have to have. Otherwise you’re going to be done and waiting for the next content drop.
ANet may give it to you.
