Hall of Momunemnts
You need to buy at least 1 of the GW’s campaigns (Prophecies, Factions or Nightfall) and also the expansion Eye of the North.
From scratch and almost without any help from others it took me about 400 hours f to get 30/50 and then almost 500 more hours to reach 45/50 with the help of guild mates :P
Here is a great start for 30/50 HoM: https://www.reddit.com/r/GuildWars/comments/iu3qw/a_hom_guide_to_3050_aimed_at_beginners/

Platinum Edition contains GW Prophecies n EotN. Is it enough? :>
P.S. Am I forced to buy rest of campaigns?

Depends on how quick you want to get the points. If you have all 3 it will be alot quicker. I would say id give you some minis, but another player just snagged 12 from me.

You only need one campaign and EotN to be able to get HoM points. However, it can be very annoying to get the points without all three campaigns (plus EotN). Getting all three gives you access to heroes (Nightfall and EotN, specifically), rare pets (Black Widow in Proph, phoenix and black moa in Factions), the Wayfarer’s Reverie event (which lets you get a tormented weapon to put in your HoM), etc. Plus, getting Nightfall means you can go to Kamadan to trade with other players for items you might need for your HoM.

Yes.

No.
I strongly recommend buying the GW Trilogy + the EotN since it will make HoM much easier/faster and you’ll love the game, believe me, specially because of the heroes system.

Thank you so much, Belezebu. I decided to do what you just wrote before I read it. Found nice offer on G2A, cheers.
Another benefit to have all of GW is the following special event coming up on the 25th:

This will get you a free tormented weapon which is needed for the HoM. Well, it’s technically only needed if going for max points but it’s essentially an easy point to get.
I would like to unlock HoM rewards that’s why decided to buy GW1. Here is my question: What exactly do I need to buy and how much does it take to get those 30 points? Maybe some tips, guide. Thank you in advance.
You should play GW1 for the enjoyment instead. It’s a great game.

I keep reading this, I have not had that experience at all. It’s actually kind of awful.

It is completely different from GW2, and I think you had to play it first to really enjoy it. I still love
it, and do some things on it weekly, or as close too weekly as I can.

Not everyone agrees.
And even though I also think GW1 is a great game and worth playing in its own right, I think the advice doesn’t help the OP: if they play for the HoM rewards and discover they enjoy the game, too, then they’ll play GW1 for its own sake. There’s no need to tell them what they should/shouldn’t enjoy.
As far as the original questions, the other posts have most of the ideas you need:
- You must own Eye of the North. Cheapest package that gets you there is Prophecies + EotN (“platinum”).
- Owning the other “campaigns” (Nightfall, Factions) makes gaining points easier, for a variety of reasons.
- The GW1 wiki has a great guide at: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Guide_to_earning_Hall_of_Monuments_rewards
- The GW1 wiki is arguably more comprehensive and helpful than the GW2 wiki, if only because it’s been around longer and GW1 has stopped evolving regularly.
I bought GW Trilogy and EotN and have pretty stupid questions. If I make a character via Prophecies for example after completion can I do other campaigns with same character and does it really matter which class I choose or faction first? I want to enjoy the game, because it’s really nice but same time would like to efficiently farm HoM :>
Yes, no matter what campaign you start you can do the 2 others with the same character.
If you start with Prophecies, you can go to the other 2 after you reach Lion’s Arch
If you start with Factions, you can go to the other 2 after you reach Kaineng City
If you start with Nightfall, you can go to the other 2 after you access to Sun Docks in Kamadan.

I’d start with prophecies. Pre searing Ascalon is amazing, its my favourite place in GW1, Next to The Eye of the North, and you can only see it by starting a character in prophecies.

Yes, do Prophecies first. You’ll get the true Guild Wars experience and feel the need to delete all your charr characters when you come back to GW2.
In gw1 all campaigns have different character customisation
so you should chose acordingly you can jump on another campaign halfway trough.
