Hall of Monuments is a place I love in Guild Wars 2. Even though it isn’t used for anything special than storing your stuff you have earned from playing original Guild Wars, and only people who have played original Guild Wars can go there.

As said, even though not being anything special, it is one of the places I love the most in Guild Wars 2. My question is pretty much for ArenaNet but other players can answer what they think about it too.

My questions is pretty much, will it become something more than just a storing place for your past achievements in original Guild Wars? Might it become a place that will show your achievements today? Will something fun be added in there?

Now if you do anything special with it, you can’t keep it away from other players. So, do you have anything on your mind, ArenaNet, that you think could be added, or perhaps even might be added in the future that you can spoil?

Personally I’d like the ability to see the spirits of your previous characters and have decendants of the characters they interacted with reflect on it.

For example, Logan seeing your GW1 Ascalonian who helped his descendants hook up.

I just wish those Xunlai chests weren’t such a psych out.

It would be nice to have something added for the GW1 players. I have the feeling however that Anet’s company focus is shifting (in much the same way Blizzard’s has done).

On a side note I wanted to say that in reflection I’m super impressed with my HoM rewards. I never posted about it before but this week I have to say it really dawned on me that I have <3 making alts and using my HoM skins to ‘pimp’ them.

I enjoy most skins from HoM and feel Anet really cared for its GW1 populace.

A warrior, a guardian, and an elementalist walk into an open field…
The Warrior turns to the guardian and says, “Did you hear something?”
Guardian replies, “No, but how’d the elementalist die?”

I have to agree that I’d like to see something more done with the HoM. I love the stuff I got from it though. I still see people in game asking me where I got my gear.

I thought it would be really cool if in an upcoming Expansion or Big update, we could “restore” out HoM, or new players could build one. It could be a personal housing system of sorts.

The HoM makes me sad. All of my statues are gone, tapestries rotted, the vision pool lost it’s magic, the Xunlai message I seen so many times is there, but there are no agents to speak to. It’s just…empty.

It a really depressing place.

Worst of all is we still don’t know anything about it. Who built it, why they built it, what the vision pool was, what broke it. Very undignified and unsatisfying end to something so monumental.

It might even be more saddening than seeing Gwen’s grave is just a small rock tucked away in a shallow alley in Ebonhawke.
