The problem is that these events are effectively taking the place of actual content. They are being treated as something that pushes other content back. Like the WvW tournament, it wasn’t really anything new and yet it filled up time.

There really isn’t much new stuff appearing at all and has not been for some time. It’s like saying you`ll build a new conservatory on your house and instead changing the doormat every three months and claiming that was what kept you from doing it.

I mean, its a new colour doormat, surely that’s enough?

Hamfast, that’s a tough one, no doubt. Some kind of horrible, centuries-long arboreal arrested development comes to mind. But I know who can have our answer. Those Veteran Hatchlings. Those things have seen some kitten in their suspiciously quick careers.

And Uncle Bill certainly was right. Regarding this and a few other things.

I will have to find those Veteran Hatchlings and see if they know the answer to the age old question: why do women have a pair of panties, but only one bra? Getting that solved would be a Halloween treat as important as rebuilding LA.

Build a man a fire, and he’ll be warm all day.

Just so everyone is aware the first years Festivals were laid out and designed around the fact that they wanted content they could reuse as groundwork for the years after. This is how it will be most Halloween, Christmas, etc will be largely the same with small differences because that how ANet set it up from the beginning. They don’t’ wanna do massive overhauls of the event year after year.

I’d actually be really happy with them replaying Shadow of the Mad King, but they didn’t last year. Shadow of the Mad King was a great update. It had a lot of content to it, even in addition to the Halloween only stuff.

I really can’t believe they’re bringing back the almost universally panned 2013 version of the event. Those candy corn sinks!

Because we can’t be angry about both?

If this is the case, I do wish they would just tell us this is the case and put out some sort of preview that includes some teasers for whatever new stuff. It’s too late for it now, of course. But pretty ridiculous that they plan for the content to be the same year after year and also that they are treating that idea like it’s something to be ashamed of.

It is something to be ashamed of if they’re repeating 2013’s Halloween rather than 2012’s.

2012’s halloween was great, Mad King’s Dungeon was excellent…

2013’s Halloween was average to poor and not worth bothering with really.

So 50/50 if it will be good/bad…

Worth wondering around looking at the decorations anyway, even if the content turns out to be crap.

Well I’m confident some things will change because LA is pretty different from what it was a year ago.

But I still think 95% of it will be the same as last year.

Hope they bring back the dungeon.

If here they fall they shall live on when ever you cry “For Ascalon!”
