Guild Wars 2

I know it’s early for talking about Halloween but I figure any suggestions for events like that should be made early. I’d like to repeat the suggestion that some others have mentioned before. Have the Mad King bring back Old Lion’s Arch for the duration of the holiday event. Many people are nostalgic about Old Lion’s Arch and would like to revisit it outside of the personal story instances. Newer players would get a chance to explore it also. Maybe with a holiday map complete.

It could have some funny dialog such as the Mad King talking about giving the place character and some character saying something about how they had to find their old apartment but they were able to save some of their belongings they lost from when old LA was destroyed and stashing them at their parent’s house.

Or have it in a new city and rotate it each year. (It may go against lore)

I can see how this could be fun and I have nothing against the idea on conceptual grounds (there are all sorts of ways to make it work, lore-wise).

However, it would be both enormously confusing to newer players and incredibly costly to swap between the LA that was destroyed and the current one. There are different NPC services (the legendary NPCs didn’t exist yet, for example).

I’d just as soon ANet prioritize newer stuff over trying to satisfy our interest in nostalgia. In particular, if ANet has any time at all to work on older content, I’d rather that was devoted into the even more difficult job of figuring out how to bring back parts of Living World Season 1 (even if it’s mostly just in video form).

tl;dr no thanks.

I, too, loved Halloween in “Old Lion’s Arch” in Guild Wars 1.

I liked the ruins of Lion’s Arch the best.
