Haloween vs wintersday which is more fun?
It used to be Halloween for me, but so much has been taken out of Halloween over the years it has become a shadow of its former self. Wintersday wins it for me.
Plus Snow > all
Neither since for years they’ve both been equally repetitive. I mean they can’t even scrounge up a new story instance like the ones they put out every other month now? Forget new activities and minigames I just want to hear more stories about Tixx and the Mad King, especially since apparently without continuing the story we’re still not getting any of the former.
I prefer Halloween now because playing with my friends is supported. Since that option was removed from Wintersday I dont participate as much.
Wintersday coz last year every night after reset me and my friends did Tixx together. I have some good memories of all the jokes we cracked about Bad Santa (the movie) and stuff. And to make things even better Bad Santa’s sequel is coming out this year. This Wintersday is going to be the best. And snooooow.
Wintersday, because it rewards success whereas Halloween rewards failure – an example of what’s wrong with the system.

Back in the day, the festivals were a part of the actual living world, which is why they were updated. Now however, they’re simply distractions used to buy time. They could maybe squeeze in 1 festival a year to add on to, but anything major would certainly take the place of a living world episode, meaning everything gets pushed back by 2 months. There’s simply no profit in doing that.
I liked when the coffin of the bloody prince tore open. I hate how hes having an all edgy emo debate in labyrinth for two years now. So it used to be hallooween, but it started becoming annoying
Halloween: Laugh at every player that doesn’t understand what a game of “Simon Says” is, tear open bags until mouse breaks, and run a loot train.
Wintersday: Play Choir Bell Hero, kill people with snowballs, kick skritt, and smash scale models of all of the major cities.
Hard to decide, so I’m gonna say Lunar New Year and get laughed out of the thread.
Which one is more fun… hm, tough question. I like them both equally, and both seem to be relatively lucrative for me. Since they don’t happen at the same time, and I don’t actually have to choose between them, I’m just gonna say I enjoy them both equally.
They are both fun for different reasons. I hope I don’t have to choose. (Both could stand some new activities, quests, etc.)
Used to be Halloween, but I really dislike the way new LA is laid out and decorated for Halloween, so it’s kind of soured me on it. Wintersday also feels like it has more varied activities to do and so Winterday wins for me.
Oh my god Wintersday >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Halloween.
I can’t even articulate how much more fun Wintersday is. The minigames are so much more entertaining. I go out of my way to ignore the modern Halloween festival…
I know both events are based on the commercialisation of traditional observations at those times of year, however Halloween is so shallow and stupid to me because of the commercialisation. Sure it might have been good in the past ages as a day to pray for the dead, but now it is pure BS which I don’t understand (or refuse to understand).
Wintersday at least in game still has the positive themes of the traditional real life observations of being kind, generous and so on. I also prefer the lighter visual tone and cheerful in game atmosphere, the environment being all Wintry and snowy and the decorations.
Halloween, cause I’m always for the creepy things in life.
But I will agree, it’s gone downhill since 2012’s first GW2 Halloween. I still love the Labyrinth, though.
GW1 still has more to both holidays than GW2.

Tell that to all the players the LS has failed to bring back even after a half years worth of episode releases.
Halloween for sure. The Lab gives you something to do with friends and guildies and its more rewarding.
Last year I came to like the Wntersday jumping puzzle. Over and over and over …
But Wintersday does have more stuff to do than Halloween.
RIP City of Heroes
