Hi, I’ve been playing this game for a long time and have a unique condition. When I used to wait tables I had a wine glkittenter in my hand. The stem of the glass went completely through my right hand a severed several nerves.

To this day I have a shake in my right hand, a condition that can be attributed to several different illnesses that other players might be suffering.

Having a shake means that sometimes, unintentionally, I may tap a key more than once in quick succession after pressing it.

On most classes this is ok, because most skills have CDs and don’t double burn resources when you press them. I can play every class fine with my handicap with the exception of Necromancer and Thief.

The Thief’s initiative system makes it near impossible for me to play, because double dropping black powder is pretty much GG. For necromancer if you double tab the F2 key it will pop you in and out of DS instantly, burning your CD.

Maybe an option can be added so that I can add a .25 delay or some kind of key queuing system to help people with conditions that cause “shakes.”

For necromancer this will help immensely. Even adding like a 1-2 second delay before you can get out of DS after going into it would open the entire class for me. I don’t really know alot of necros that would want to exit DS and burn a full CD on it right after entering (unless it was an accident or if there is some high level play trick that I don’t know about).

Seems like a reasonable suggestion, although I’m uncertain how viable it would be to implement. A client-side handler for adding something like “multi-click cancellation” or something which just puts all actions on a separate timer might make this work, possibly allowing for expand-ability for users to be able to define the length allowed between registered double-click events.

Good luck with the suggestion!

They really have no concern for handicapped. Mandatory JPs are proof of that.

Ley lines. The perfect solution to deadlines and writers block. Now in an easy open Can.

Apologies for the necro-post but I am in pretty much the same boat when it comes to my having epilepsy. Usually it is controllable (or I am not playing a game) but sometime I am otherwise fine with a slight tremor in either my focus or hand. Which makes mandatory JPs and anything that requires being in an exact spot (like the metrica province stealth LS) maddening! I do agree a client-side solution would be best as different people have different needs and would want different tolerances.

There are some things in operating systems that improve accessibility, including handling double clicks. You may want to look if any of those options would work for you.

Flashing ds is useful for self fury stacking in pve, just saying.

If you’re on EU and need help to get into dungeons, pm me.

This suggested change would make the game feel much less smooth and far more clunky for me. As Oxtred mentioned for non DS focused Nec builds flashing DS for fury can be quite a notable increase in damage.

An optional system to prevent this issue would be great, but preventing quick play for everyone… well… no thanks.

The idea presented in the thread was not a change to the server but to the client (or even the OS). It would not affect anyone else.
