I am happy scarlet is finally finished. There is a light at the end of the tunnel maybe we can get back to some dragon slaying…. Sad cause its going to take Anet several months to finish the scarlet arc. Maybe they could just scrap the last 3 releases and go straight to the 4th so we can just kill her and move on with our lives. I have a feeling anything less then killing scarlet will destroy the game.

Who says she dies or even goes away?

We’re all making some [big] assumptions here…

Edit: rofl @ the stupid filter

Don’t look at me like that. Whatever you’ve heard, it’s probably not true.

Ah, yes. Lets scrap the majority of the final and just get the last part, which would make absolutely no sense what so ever, since we have no clue about the build up….

And no, I am not sure that Scarlet will die. I also find it quite interesting that people seem to be under the impression that Scarlet can’t be tied to the Dragons.

For all we know she will wake Mordremoth up in the final, and all the alliances and stuff she has done until now have simply been to get enough knowledge and/or stuff to do so.

Or maybe she is out to kill him before he wakes up?

Who says we get dragons after the Scarlet arc ends? Maybe we will get other random story arcs while they continue to make dragons awesome when they do come out

A dev posted that Scarlet WILL have an end, so be sure of that.
But we have no idea what we’ll get after Scarlet, it can be great, it can sucks … who knows?

Charter Vanguard [CV] – HoD
Bardy Belzebuson – Ranger Sir Belzebu – Herald

=p don’t dash my dreams and hopes for a return to dragons.

On a serious note they need to stick with the core of the game. Lately we have been kinda off on this wild tangent about Scarlet. Someone who was never a part of lore until now. Suddenly has been injected into all parts of lore out of the blue. Personally I think the best thing they can do is

Go back to the dragons
and focus on us being the hero…. no one wants to be the side kick.

You can’t be the hero, because then everyone is the hero and that’s just as pointless.

We’ll see more dragons, but that’s “personal” story content. Scarlet is “living” story content. The story of the crap going on in the world outside and beyond the dragons. What, you think bad stuff stops happening just because some other threat already exists? I would have liked to see additional things happening in the world, on top of Scarlet’s insanity. Really make the world feel like its alive. After all, just because there’s a war on in one part of the world, doesn’t meant the rest of the world simply stops going about its business.

Maybe we’ll get there, maybe we won’t. I’m still sticking by my ‘wait and see’ approach.

Don’t look at me like that. Whatever you’ve heard, it’s probably not true.

I do not have that problem. Instances remove all the other people from my game. And if it is open world, other people are easy to completely ignore or pass off as nameless, faceless NPCs inconsequential to my heroic story.

Mechanically GW2 does a very good job of focusing on the actions of your own character above all others… but both the personal and living stories do their best to undermine it.

I do not want to be The Hero. Then again, that’s my preference. I think the problem is the pacing here.

Every single npc we’ve encountered so far has gone out of his/her way to tell us about how awesome we are. After 2 measly missions you get promoted to the highest operative rank in your order and then out of the blue you become the commander of an alliance that includes thousands of people. Next thing you know, we’re gonna rule our own country.

It just can’t be done the way it’s been done till now. Effortlessly climbing and skipping ranks in official, huge organisations, no true setbacks, all smooth sailing. I think this is a direct result of their decision to keep internal conflict to a bare minimum – and when not- relegated to what is basically an evil enemy npc faction – which totally kills the original concept.

Overall, I feel like they’ve driven themselves in a corner story-wise. The Pact’s already stationed in FS, keeping Trahearne as the Warmarshal wouldn’t make sense – the player leading the Pact wouldn’t make sense either. So I can’t help but wonder where this is gonna go…

Umm every game I have ever played I am the hero… World of Warcraft a direct competitor to GW2 I was the hero. In a 10/25 man raid I was the main hero in my eyes and mind.

A ‘hero’ that requires 9/24 ‘sidekicks’ is not a hero imo….

Agreed, don’t care about being a hero, but ruler of my own country now that peeks my interest, give me that karka laden island and a army of zerker warriors to command we’ll clean it right up!

Hehe – how about leader?

Scarlet surely has invoked some emotions.

Well I don’t know, I just came back from a mission with two marjorly good looking women, one of them in an illusionary dress, blew up a big tower. I have to say I did not behave like a true gentleman, taking the exit portal first … but heh, they can look after themselves (edit: being strong personae).

“Whose Kitten is this?” – “It’s a Charr baby.”
“Whose Charr is this?”- “Ted’s.”
“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”

Your in…. we’ll need bartenders and minstrels to help us celebrate our victories!

I would apply for the position of bartender if I can sample unlimited amounts of my new creations (how does freshly pressed karka taste? chill it first?) to ensure drink quality and the desired long time effect.

I am good at listening as long as I am not required to do more than nod and add an occasional “mhmm”.

Proper tips will increase the speed of conjuring my sultry intoxicants and secure proper temperatures for more traditional beverages.

If you drink to forget you will have to pay in advance.

Sorry, that stool is reserved for Kasmeer.

LOL… your in also, you may have the ale concession in my new country and of course sample all you may like as long as I get my cut in coin to help resupply my Zerkers, now I just need to get my blue commander thingy, a Zerker army, a couple ships and we’ll head on over and start kickin’ some karka kitten, I think we’ll start with that queen and get her out of the way first.

BTW: Karka is said to taste like chicken with a fishy smell guess we’ll need a few cooks also…. man being a potential ruler is a lot of hard work!
