I was going around Harathi Hinterlands and I noticed that there were alot more people around then it used to. And people were talking about it being on a megaserver. When did it become part of a megaserver and why didn’t i see an official posting for it? And is there a way in-game that will tell you if you are in a megaserver map?

ArenaNet has a habit of not keeping us updated on changes, for example the patch notes do several more changes than what it is documented.

Edit: If you mean just that particular map, it may or may not be on the Official list. But it seems most maps are using the MegaServer implementation now. Seems helpful in a lot of maps.

Harathi is not megaservered according to the Rollout thread.

If there is a big flamewar between people from matched up servers in WvW, then it’s probably a megaserver.

There is a thread listing the zones on the megaserver now. It is quite a lot of zones and they said they would switch new ones on when they thought it was time, rather than on an advertised schedule.

I cant find said thread, but go thro the dev tracker and u should be able to re locate it

You can check if a map is in megaserver simply checking the lfg in the open worl content tab, if the name of the server is (…) then you are in a megaserver.

It didnt seem to be part of the MegaServer a couple hours ago. I was trying to do an event to get a trait for my new character, but no one was there. So I went with the old guest on deso trick and voila… showed up to a half dead champ and got my trait.
