Harder PvE area's
I agree, the only level 80 area thats challenging for me is the Lost Shores area. They go down just as quick, but hit for 2-3x more damage.
I went there to (naked), but was still easy. There i could only take 2 mobs at once.
With the current rewards open world gives at this time no, you make it harder with nothing worth having drop more players will leave, its hard enough now to enjoy the game as it is, making it harder wont help PvE…
Also as a test i challenge you to try the same on a naked Engineer, Ele or Ranger…Also armor is quite meaningless take out all traits and see how you do.
I’ve been thinking that what we need is Hard Mode + Vanquishing. Let us talk to an NPC to enter an instanced version of the map with up to 5 people and clear the map…. every zone gets a Hard Mode that’s designed to be challenging for lvl 80s.

hard mode VQing wasn’t hard except for a couple of areas tbh.
I swear this game need the equivalent of a APM gauge…
As long as increased difficulty doesn’t mean permastun, instagib or pinballpull then I’m all for it.
They can’t make PVE harder, due to the design mechanics.
Right now the only 2 ways A-net think makes PVE harder is Increasing mobs Hp so they just take longer to kill which in turn makes pve more stale or by making mobs have skills which one shot you.
Look at this reddit post which addresses the issue. From a guy who has reached the highest level of pve content.
