Last week I read a post about mf gear in dungeons and that it decreases your stats. So i thought I make a mf gear (just rare with major runes), because more gold and items is never wrong (mf gear does not work currently) and I got bored because outside dungeons or PvP there is no real challenge (except some lvl 80 veterans and certain events).
So I went with my warrior and new gear to Orr to test my decreased stats. It was still for me easy to win and so I went to strip down completely excemp my greatsword. I started at Fort Trinity and went all the way to Arah. Killing most mobs on the way. And at some point I wondered how many mobs I could take at ones. These were my limits:
3 or 5 mobs (depends on the mobs)
1 veteran (depends which 1)
2 mobs and an annoying statue debuff
More i could not survive and at that point i thought endgame PvE area’s aren’t challenging enough. That’s the reason I write this. I hope that there will come an area where people can go to be challenged.

That’s why i ask you this question:
Do you think there should be more challenge at endgame area’s (outside dungeons)?

And this side question:
Did anyone else try to run around in Orr while being naked?

I agree, the only level 80 area thats challenging for me is the Lost Shores area. They go down just as quick, but hit for 2-3x more damage.

I went there to (naked), but was still easy. There i could only take 2 mobs at once.

With the current rewards open world gives at this time no, you make it harder with nothing worth having drop more players will leave, its hard enough now to enjoy the game as it is, making it harder wont help PvE…

Also as a test i challenge you to try the same on a naked Engineer, Ele or Ranger…Also armor is quite meaningless take out all traits and see how you do.

I’ve been thinking that what we need is Hard Mode + Vanquishing. Let us talk to an NPC to enter an instanced version of the map with up to 5 people and clear the map…. every zone gets a Hard Mode that’s designed to be challenging for lvl 80s.

As long as increased difficulty doesn’t mean permastun, instagib or pinballpull then I’m all for it.

If you can read this then it is proof that ArenaNet’s moderators just, kind and fair.

They can’t make PVE harder, due to the design mechanics.

Right now the only 2 ways A-net think makes PVE harder is Increasing mobs Hp so they just take longer to kill which in turn makes pve more stale or by making mobs have skills which one shot you.

Look at this reddit post which addresses the issue. From a guy who has reached the highest level of pve content.
