Hi there. I bought this tools and they are Account Bound. It means that to use them on different characters I have to send this tool to them. I think it could be nice: bought once and they are replaced on every character on following account, the old ones and new ones.

They kinda solved this with the shared inventory slots. Though you still got to remember to swap out. However, I think the reason they hold back on them being automatically replaced and duplicated on all characters is to prevent botting or something.

Having them account bound is a way to sell more of those tools when players get bored of switching them betwen characters. Anet needs to earn money somehow, this just allows them to sell more gems.

I doubt players normally switch between characters several timer per day so its not really that much trouble to get tools through bank.

I don’t think that players will spend 1000 gems to get the same item on another character. Yeah, I guess the best decision will be to send via bank. Shared inventory slot 700 gems… it’s not worth it.

People do spend gems to get extra sets of the tools. Not because of not wanting to switch but to match the different sets of tools to the “look” of their character. No I don’t have extra sets, just one that I do switch between all characters.

Alot of people had bought copper-fed salvage kits and airship/terrace passes for all their characters, not too unbelievable that they’d buy multiple sets of tools

I guess I shouldn’t tell you how many complete sets of tools I’ve bought for alts. I think you’d be surprised.

Shared inventory slot for 700 gems… totally worth it for me.

• 1000-gem watchwork pick shared across eight L80s, a savings of 6300 gems for me.
• 800-gem copper-fed salvager, shared across still more toons, an even bigger (total savings).

I originally bought several sets, for the convenience of being able to harvest during combat and not use up a couple of inventory slots for when I ran out of charges.

It’s 560 gems per slot if you get the 5 pack.

As to being worth it, I’ll tell you what it did for me
1) 5 more inventory slots for every char I have with anything I put in there available to all my chars.
2) a set of permanent harvesting tools on every char I have (all I have to do is switch out each time I change chars. That’s more convenient than going to the bank each time to switch out)
3) deletion of all the extra harvesting tools each char was carrying. Since each char had at least one extra set, that’s 3 inventory slots freed up per char.
4) repeat steps 2 and 3 with the copper fed salvage kit.

I considered it well worth it for the price.
