Harvesting/logging/mining gem items

Mining tools are not purchased for profit (though the watchwork pick can pay off faster than the others), they are purchased for the convenience of never running out of tools again.
Some people buy them for cosmetic reasons.
At current sprocket prices, watchwork you can profit from after almost 19k mining strikes. If you mine 50 ore a day, it pays off in about a year.
As noted above, the others are strictly convenience/cosmetic and take something like 500,000 strikes to come out ahead.
I love my Unlimited Gathering Tools. Best purchase, probably, other than Bank Tabs.
I could not care less if they are profitable; I don’t think anything I’ve purchased from the Gem Store paid for itself in terms of Gold. Gem Store items are either convenience items, or cosmetic, for the most part.
Do they ever have sales on unlimited tools?
There much more of a convenience no more going back to buy gathering supply’s no more running out in the middle of a run or wast bag space stocking them up in the field . Same with the salvage no more having to go buy tuns of them or combine them in forge so so
Yeah, definitely about convenience rather than money saving.
The best quality vendor tools are 4 copper per “use”.
The 1000 gem “infinite” tools are about 200 gold at current exchange prices.
So buy them for pleasure, convenience and/or vanity rather than for any financial reason.
They did, for a day, last anniversary sale. There’s also a themed discount bundle that comes around once in a while.
RIP City of Heroes
I’ve got a matching set (all 3 are “Molten”) and I love them. A bit pricey, yes, but totally worth it for me since I spend countless hours hunting for nodes (one of my favourite things to do in all the MMOs I’ve played, including this one).
And I don’t care at all about them paying for themselves. I wanted them solely for the effects, and the convenience of never running out, or worrying about if I have the right type/quality.
They’re definitely my favourite (and most-used) Gem Store purchases.
