Has Anet changed methods on bot "protection"?
The DR are still here, but there are new mechanics to offset them. Bosses drop guaranteed loot, there are new sources of end-game items and karma etc.

hopefully that explains part of it.
DR still alive and well my friend, some of us, despite their claims that everything is fine and fixed, are still being affected by DR dramatically. 6-8 kills in any zone on any of my toons drops me into DR immediately and apparently not only is loot RNG but so is the timer for DR I suspect.
Thanks guys. Sigh, me and friends loved gw2 but when we found out about the DR we jumped ship.
Hoping they changed if we gave them time but no luck =\
Yep we’re hoping they’ll come to their senses too at this point, however I’m highly doubtful and truly think that the end result will be too much pride at the expense of success.
DR is still heavily enforcement, as is bot detection. Easy to see with the bugged events in Orr (ie constant spawning enemies). Kill a dozen mobs, oh look now you only get grey trash 90% of the time. Say “Hey I’m farming a bugged event!” in the chat and suddenly green items and T5-6 materials start popping all over the place. Until you kill the next dozen, then you get mostly grey trash again.
I’ve never experienced this “DR” before, actually. The longest I spend in an area is maybe 1-2 hours @ cursed
for there you have been and there you will long to return.

Probably why. I’d spend probably 8+ hours in a zone if I want to farm.
It should be noted that at least for some people, DR was not the cause for the bad drops they’d been getting and some people claim since the fix went in they’ve been getting better drops. Other people haven’t been affected in the same way.
The only way to see what kind of drops you’d get is to log in and try it.
