It seems to me that if it’s nighttime and I want to find daylight to see an outfit, it’s night wherever I go. At game start it was independently generated in each zone. In fact, when people were waiting for a fireworks event in LA that proc’d at “dawn” there were issues with figuring out when dawn would be in your instance, and heaven help you if you dc’d and came back in another.

So it’s striking me that maybe the megaservers have also snuck in a constant timeframe across all zones.

Preview menu is daytime. Also certain zones, such as Arah (Explorable) will be daytime.

The times are also not synced, it might be because it’s off hours combined with megaservers. New maps typically start off in the “morning” time of day, iirc.

The Day-and-Night-Cycle is inter-zone-synced, unless an instance (Dungeon, personal story or FotM) overrides it. 70 minutes day followed by 40 minutes night and 5 mins dusk and dawn in between.

I think you mean 40 minutes of night. The total Day/Night cycle is 120 minutes or 2 hours.
