Guild Wars 2

That some game named “League of Angels” seems to be blatantly using parts of Guild Wars 2 to promote their game?

I spotted it on a Facebroke ad.

I saw a different image of this game where they use the hero panel UI and even go so far as to use the ANET logo lol

It’s not just GW2. They use stuff from other games too.

Normally I usually just see huge, shiny tatas in the ads for these games.

I’ve seen people claiming that they ripped off LoL.

If it’s on Facebook I think you can report the fact that the advert is using other peoples intellectual property. You can definitely mark it as inappropriate or offensive or something and if they get enough reports they’ll pull the ads.

They rip off pretty much every major title out there. From what I saw early on of these ads on some sites (ABP now catches all of these), the text used in the game’s logo was identical to that of LoL’s. Literally the same rustic gold serif font copy-pasted from the “League Of” portion.

The studio/game appears to be a pretty hefty scam on a lot of other popular games in the industry.

I had never heard of that game before. But now after I read this post I thought “What kind of game is that, is it actually legit, do people play this or is it a scam?”.

Well, the result of this thread is that more people will know about the game, remember its name, maybe google about it. This is pretty much “Mission accomplished” for the ad, I would say.

The game is also listed in the AMD Gaming Evolved/Raptr interface under free to play games. The trailer in that interface says the game is from Reality Squared Games.

The trick with the link is that my facebroke is setup to block games and I refuse to undo it to follow the link. I think it would be easier to hit Reality Squared Games since they made the game and are therefore responsible for any advertizements.

They use images of GW2 all the time. Especially one of the early Zaithan screenshots… my mom plays this game and its nothing like GW2 buuuut.. yeah, lol. I’ve dabbled in it and its not that great of a game poorly translated, etc. Seems to be mostly played by people who don’t speak English so they may not even know.

Sad thing, it’s pretty common as other Facebook games I checked out rip things such as music or “tunes”, or straight take art designs and shift them enough to be “homage” rather than “ripoff” (or so they’d say).

It is an entirely different world on that side of gaming, and they think nothing of basically lifting whatever they can get away with lifting. If you really want to groan, try checking what games come out on mobile.

They are desperate for attention… and for good reason, the game looks terribad.

According to the wife, she took a look at the game and found several armor skins from Guild Wars 1 actually in the game on the NPCs. She pointed out the female Istani elementalist armor to me since my GW1 Elementalist has that armor.

The Wife said she will sit down and play it when she gets home tonight and take screen shots for this thread.

Oh I’m sure the DEVS know. I am talking about the people playing the game, lol. I played teh game for a long time.. also there is more than that game that does it. Therei s one called War of… something or other ( I don’t remember) that used a lto of GW2 stuff as well as WoW things.

Why do you play these games? If they do false adv and illegally, what else false they are doing? Like 100,000 people playing… a quality game flys, sh..
