Thanks to the new op update it’s made WvW pointless for me now, I can’t seem to roam anymore as guardian as I can’t defend the damage now, even invulnerable now you can take damage. I’ve tried different armor/ runes (at expense) and still failing. If you know of a build that can please feel free to post.
It’s also made fractals a joke to do, it was easy enough before this update….prolly the 2 things I did mostly now seem pointless, makes me regret pre purchasing GoT if this is how things are, I’ve played since GW1 Tyria, always hated them messing about with skills/ builds, sometimes I understand it’s necessary, more often it’s not.

ur dying probably because ur playing based on your old build? playing old bunker specs is glassy with only doing 2k-3k auto atacks, play full dps stats, when i changed to dps build was doing 4k-6k crits with GS and i remmember to crit up to 8k a target with vulnerability stacks on it.

Try to play what is strong at the moment full DPS with condi (fire) and ur kill your targets under 2-3 seconds, get a team, spike them before they even spot you, if u have a full glassy team the other group wont even have time to notice what hit them… everyone is doing loads of damage so are u.
Use veils, invisibility, blink (ji blending spikes) any combinations that burst alot.

Atm game is build to win mostly, game never got this dumbed down….

Yeah, condi been functional only need some open world bosses to be tweaked (alredy implemented but needs some pulishment), and a nerf to burn -.- .

The damage issue its both direct damage and condi damage and its more about some refinment to the +30% stat change in the gear.

Overall the patch has been accidented but its an improvement to condition damage, some support and making more builds strong instead of a couple.

This seems to be a repeating issue in the forums with individuals having a problem with the new system and having to adapt to a new meta, so I got an expert to look into this problem for you guys and here is his conclusion to what you can do to improve your results in WvW cause Im not a fractal frequenter…

Well the reason gear has more stats is because traits no longer give you stats. I think you still have about the same amount of stats in total.

The total yes, the distribution changed, the old trait system didnt allow us to have more than 300 bonus in a stat, now between the 74 + of base stats and the 30% in gear, it can let you go beyond that 300 bonus.

That makes damage specs have more damage than before, and survival ones more survival, instead of mixed feelings -.- .

However since toughness its actualy functional as defense: armor + toughness, its mitigating % gain its less comparativly, smaller the more armor has a class.

A similar effect make low pool health classes much “heathier” now than before, because they get more gains in % for the vit (again in comparison to damage). The opposite effect happend to higher pool health classes, the % of vit gain its lower compartively to damage.

He/she tried to change the armor and runes of his/her guardian to maintain himself/herself competitive as a roamer, it didnt work, so he/she spent his gold in bain.

yes that is my complaint thanks to the new op update, it’s also cost me quite a lot trying out new armor and runes with my hard earned gold…. I don’t see why they keep changing skills so often. It’s understandable when a skill becomes too op and abused ( like Shadow Form from gw1) but was this last update really necessary, unbalancing things so much?
I’d much rather them work on improving other game issues like the dodgy targeting system and running slow motion in aggro, and leave things which are not broken.

If you know about Shadow Form, you’ll know that no matter how many times it was “nerfed” they ended up making it the most over powered skill the later into the game it got. Sure, originally you took no damage/no damage reduction.
However, when they changed it, they allowed Rangers to rip the game apart (can still) since you take physical damage albeit 0s.

Expecting anet to do a good job on skill balancing is asking way too much.

I hear there is a forum and a reddit and.. a site called.. betabattle.. no.. hetabattle? Idk.
Maybe you could ask/search those for a build without wasting your precious gold.
Not sure why you don’t want to spend gold on a game. Why did you make it in the first place?

Maybe test your build in pvp first? It’s mostly free. This is the risk you take when you make you’re own build. That’s why most people stick with meta battle as the expensive and time consuming leg work is done for us already. QQ

Noone forced you to spend gold on new armor…..you could maybe just have patience as the patch gets adjusted over the next few weeks, and/or, as others have suggested, tried out different builds in PvP to see what worked and what didn’t.

Lots of players are also having to deal/adapt to the new patch. Happens with every major patch.

That’s where the patience attribute comes in handy.
