I delete 80s often to replace them with more 80s.

Ya, back when the game first came out. Not knowing you can have more than 5 char slots, no name change scrolls and no way to edit your characters appearance. Or at some point i wanted to check out a class with a different race.

I have at least deleted 3 lvl 80’s that i can remember.(others in the 40’s) I eventually found out you can have up to 41 char slots so i spent a lot of time farming gold and got up to 18 char slots when gems went 12 silver per 100 at the time. china farmers/botters destroyed that and it never recovered.

I have deleted:

80 Asura Necromancer, she would already have her 3rd birthday by now, 400 chef. Deleted due to lack of armor that looks great on light asuras, all that worked at the time was Arah armor. Remade Sylvari Necro. Considering remaking the Asura necro with a new slot instead.

80 Human Thief, would be 3 too. She had 100% map and 500 Weaponsmithing too. Deleted because running animation changed slightly, her running with Incinerators looked ridiculous to me. So she had to go, remade Norn Thief and never been happier. Regained the craft and map completion in no time.

I have deleted two level 80 characters so far…a norn 80 warrior and a norn 80 reaper. The warrior was my first character and I realized I just didn’t enjoy playing it once I branched out to other professions. My only regrets are the loss of various map completions and the loss of max level jewel crafting that I had on that character. If only those things were account bound instead of character specific. I deleted the necro/reaper because of dissatisfaction with the persistent design decision to make it such a selfish profession that still doesn’t sync very well with group bonuses like heals and doesn’t provide even a semi unique party bonus. I prefer to play professions that add bonuses to parties. My Norn 80 scrapper is only surviving because I don’t want to lose max level leatherworking. It is pretty easy to level a fresh 80 with tomes and scrolls, so its just the elite unlocks and crafting that makes it painful to delete an 80.

I’ve deleted a few for mostly cosmetic reasons. Mostly warriors (deleted 4 so far). Never really got a feel for that class somehow.

As a warrior main, I gasp at your blasphemy and would like to put your head on a spike for this atrocity in murdering all those poor warrior alts.
