Right now during Scarlet invasion I noticed them flying on the sky ^^

I’ve seen two Shatterers, as did some guild friends who were with me at the time. It was my wife’s first time -ever- seeing him and she was a bit amused/perplexed.

There’s a video on youtube showing three Shatterers.

More of that Living Story polish we’ve all come to expect. I wonder if all those Shatterers are hunting the emissaries those Divinity’s Reach Honor Guard are still supposedly awaiting?

Those are definitely Kralkatorrik’s broodlings.

You make it sound like it is a mistake.
It isn’t.
The Shatterer is not a single specific individual, it is a rank, and it is quite possible (even quite likely) that several of them exists at the same time.

“The Shatterer, also called the Beast by some Sentinels, is a rank given to a champion of Kralkatorrik. At any given time, there’s only a single dragon of this rank.”

The other one must have been on vacation or something.

It is however possible that they have changed that. It was a statement made 2 years before release of the game after all and quite a few things have changed since then.

Yeah, like the level of polish in the game. Or are you going to scrounge up some lore that explains the Honor Guard still waiting to escort emissaries to a balloon that does doesn’t exist so they can get to a Jubilee that’s no longer running?

I am pretty sure the shatterer isn’t supposed to have a twin brother roaming around without some sort of lore to explain that. That’s a serious threat.

I just ran by a couple of those poor sods earlier today. They’re sure going to be waiting a long time for that emissary!

I like you, Darkace. That made me laugh.

If you looks closely, there are dozens of shatterer like dragons in the sky. Just like in ORR you see dozens of Teq like dragons and in Frostgorge you see many claws flying around.

No one remembers the battle at Claw Island? Risen Dragon who looks like Teq ring any bells?

Like someone else already posted, those names have to do with rank and lore. I think the only dragon champion we’ve seen so far that didn’t have identical sisters and brothers would be Glint.

There’s only one dragon that has the rank “Shatterer” at a time. He gets it when the previous dragon who had this rank was killed.

The other dragons you see may not be of the rank “Shatterer”. Doesn’t mean they shouldn’t exist.

If you take the time to talk and listen to the NPC’s in the area, they’ll explain it to you. There is only 1 Shatterer, he is the champion lieutenant of Kralkatorik. However, there are many, many other crystal dragons like him around, and once we explode the current Shatterer, the next most powerful takes his place and is now deemed “Shatterer”. Most of the NPC’s believe it’s this main champion that’s responsible for maintaining the corruption in the brand. Don’t believe me? Go out there and actually take some time to slow down, talk to the NPC’s in the outposts, during the events, or just listen to them chat ambiently. You’ll learn a lot. There’s a lot of ambient chatter in the game that reveals a good bit you can’t find elsewhere if people would just slow down and listen.

Also, people in Frostgorge mention that there are several Claws of Jormag. Tequatl, though, is unique, as you never actually kill him even when you kill him, he just dives back into the water.

As far as them being on the ground, yeah I think that is a bug. I posted some pics of them landing the other day and the moderators moved it to the bug section. Sad too, because it’s pretty epic to see them landing all over the zone. In case you wanted to see i’ll post them here.

There is a problem here tho. There can be more than one dragon that LOOKS like the current Shatterer without having that rank. I bet we are seeing all the dragons in line behind the current Champion that we keep killing / driving off every 3 hours.

There is nothing in the lore that says all of the different ranks need to appear different. All branded basically look the same except for their original form. It would hold true the same with the dragons. Just because one of them is called Shatterer, and he is the current Champion, does not mean there aren’t others out there that look the same. The only way to be sure is if you can target them. Can you target them to find out?

No they can’t be targeted. They’re also (seemed to me anyway) a little smaller than the actual boss.

Why? There’s a horde of Tequatl lookalikes, after all, and they are supposed to be relatively comparable beings.

Maybe the Shatterer has Mesmer abilities?

Yeah the other day I wp’d to the Last Whiskey Bar and there was one Shatterer landing outside the fortress and one flying around in the sky. Pretty sure that never happened before.

There are also several Dragons that look like Tequali flying around Orr’s sky. They are other champions I suppose

We kill a new Shatterer every 90 minutes. More than one dragon of the same size sort of makes sense.

I wish these dragons were engagable before meta events. like: where are all these thousands of shatterers that just come out whenever we have siege equipment ready? I want a zone east of blazeridge where, instead of normal mobs, there are shatterers and mini shatterers that will one day grow up into the full thing. same for the sea west of sparkfly and the mountains north of frostgorge. of course, they aren’t angry over you attacking them, so they don’t have as many abilities, but they do walk around and have the same health and have giant aoe claw-swiping attacks that hit for 90% of your hp so you are likely to die (the dragons are a threat, after all, and we are barely able to kill them even when we focus them down with 100 people)

Yes, I’ve actually seen several “shatterer” type dragons in the sky before. Especially in the whisper’s ogre story mission. I didn’t think anything of it honestly. I mean, it makes sense that more than one would exist, although not necessarily of the same ‘rank’ (until we kill off the former). Or, as someone else pointed out, could just be mesmer-ish abilities. Or, it could completely be a glitch. I tend to lean towards the first myself… but to each their own.

They were talking about the smaller undead Tequatl-looking ones that you see in the skies over Orr battling the airships all day. You don’t get to see zhaitan until the dungeon :P Even when fighting him you can still see them flying around in the background. He may be composed of other dragons, but not all of the dragons

Fighting two shatterers would be awesome

I saw him crashing, I saw him landing on hills for a few seconds. I think the glitch is different for every character because he followed me through the map and I could swear that while fighting a mob he sprayed me with his pink fire.

Every time a see the title off this post it reminds me of Keith lemon! “Shatterer”
