Q:

I just hit 80 today, and so many questions have come to mind, and at the foremost, is how do I get that pretty purple rainbow gear…the Legendary.

After asking around, many have told me that the best way is to just play the game to have fun and then after a while, I’ll naturally accumulate most of the resources I’ll need…this sounds like a solid plan. However, what all is there to do? That’s the hardest part of this game. It is so feature rich, that I don’t even know where to start. I don’t know what all I unlocked by becoming 80 or anything.

On a side note, what should I do at this point now that I am 80? I bought a full set of exotics, promptly wasted all my Ascalonian Tears on the wrong staff (but I’ll deal with it for now). What else do I need to do? What should I be doing daily? Thanks in advance for your responses!

If you can’t get out of it, get into it.

My advice? Get to know the people around you. All content is fun with a friend by your side.

Only fools and heroes charge in without a plan.

Let me make a list of things you can try:
1. Dungeon paths: There are in total 27 paths. Some dungeon paths are more challenging than other. Some are really quick easy work through that people usually run for the gold

2. Fractals of the mist: Has 50 scales. You can progress slowly. There are unique rewards from fotm, making them attractive for daily.

3. World bosses: Most of are just farming business. Teq is slightly more challenging. Triple trouble is the most challenging but can be done with good organization.

4. Map completion: This is what you need to do if you eventually want a legendary.

5. PvP: currently the best area that makes full use the amazing combat system of gw2. The reward is also pretty good.

6. WvW: fun play-how-you-want large-scale PvP zone. Hang in with a group of people, large or small. You will be able to find things to do.

Also, by playing how you want probably won’t earn you a legendary very fast. The biggest obstacle is the precursor which can be expensive if you are looking at those popular ones.

But this will change after the release of the expansion HoT
