Healing power
It’s well known.
Healing power is the second most useless stat in the game. Magic find was the first. It really make me fear for the druid and it’s really bad healing power scaling.
So here’s what will happen:
1) ANet says let’s do something about that.
2) ANet cuts all healing bases by 25%
3) ANet says ‘ok, if you have 900 healing you can get 33% more healing than you used to be able to, total.’
4) We all cry that now we need to have points in healing.
That we don’t need to put points into healing is fine IMO.

You know guys, I’m slowly tired of playing Guild Wars 2, but not because it’s not amazing game! It’s very well made very creative and when I think about it, this game has one of the best combat systems. Yes. It does, but sadly combat system is worthless if it’s not used, who cares if your engine can do it, if you don’t use the potential! At all! So many potential lost.. I dare to say game could be 50% better if guys in anet would care for the skills and traits a little bit more, and little bit less investment into PvE.
I truly try not to judge but I’m sorry, after 3 years i just had to express the depression of unbalanced stuff.
Does some one else think that investing in healing power takes a lot of investment and gives very little back?

Healing (as a stat) has always been busted. There has been no indication, that I have seen, that Anet has any intention to fix it. If you want to be the Holy Trinity Healer…. You are, very definitely, in the wrong game…

I think they only said that they are looking into how much healing affects the druid. Nothing was said about doing the same for other professions.

The #6 is supposed to have a high base since that is pretty much the cornerstone of the not having sit around waiting for a healer thing. Thing with high base won’t get high scaling so there is nothing unusual about that.
Regeneration does seem to have a low base and unimpressive scaling at 130 and 12.5%.
The healing coefficients on most things are low because when this game was first launched, the devs were really afraid of making a healing trinity. It is a fair concern. As far as most MMOs go, healing is either extremely overpowered or extremely underpowered. The scales tip from one point to the other at the slightest of nudges.
As for GW2’s system, it was designed to have high base + low scaling to make it so every class was sufficient enough at healing themselves. While the scaling on most skills appears low, the percentage return you get on non-#6 skills is pretty high. For example regeneration heals 130 HPS with no healing power, but with 900 healing power it heals for243 HPS, which is an 87% increase in the effectiveness of regeneration.
Most alternate heals are like this. Heals that apply to groups or apply regeneration have a higher percentage increase for healing power. This is to make healing power a supportive stat moreso one you invest in to become superbunker.

You think that they are not going to review healing numbers across the game now that we have two new healers coming?
The devs want to make gear stats more meaningful, break further away from the zerker meta and to promote support/healing roles so it would be foolish to think that all things healing won’t be on their radar. And sometimes you have to read between the lines of things…

It was about base healing for Celestial Avatar. He didn’t say anything about healing stat.
You gotta think bigger picture. “The berserker meta not be the only consideration requires that other stat combinations be rewarding”…
Irenio didn’t say that Druids in zerker gear can’t be the only consideration…
