Heavy Weather
Ohh I miss this from old MMOs, I’d go further an dream about some kind of time distortion in the skies making vortexes appear all over like a “take over”.
Ahhh… heavy weathers sure add so much to overall experiences, both PvE and WvW (it would ruin sPvP I suppose), and yet… ahh… .
@Edit
Just realized Blazeridge Steppes is more or less like this, but it’s not vortex but purple corruption flowing along with thunders as the Shatterer traverses the entire map.
Have I mentioned how I love Shatterer?
Yeah, I’m quite fond of those skies. Orr’s, too.
If the effects would carry down to ground level, though… kitten I’d be even more enthralled with the sights than I already am.
Because the game can totally handle it.
There’s a fractal where they employ heavy snow falls, followed by a dark area.
It really sets the mood.
Nice pointless, unfounded sarcastic remark there.
Many games have. Or are you going to go off on a spiel about how inferior GW2 is?
@ThiBash; Exactly. Makes me wish there was a part involving the forest that you couldn’t just run through.

Unfounded? Do you even play WvW?
No, I mentioned SM because I like to watch videos of it.
So preset snowfall is worst than dozens/hundreds of unique character models running around spamming animations and visual effects?
Man, I never realized how bulky automated raindrops were.

Well that’s your problem then. You should realize how much the game can handle.
Sarcasm, sweetie.
Now as there is no constructiveness to this exchange I’m going to stop replying to you before a mod comes along and locks this.

Let me make it more constructive. Increased weather equals increased server and client load – period. Games I’ve played in the past that had some really nice weather, etc all had options to disable them. Naturally the WvW crowd would opt it off most the time. Currently GW2 can’t handle mass amounts of people in one spot, let alone lots of rain and whatnot. Changing how much the client does is a huge change compared to how it is now. Some of the supposed culling fixes may be a good start for something like this.
That said, sure, I’d love some more atmosphere.
