hello everyone im new at guild wars2 i just quit world of warcraft i dont enjoy mop even i got 2 level90

my main in wow was warrior dps

what best race to play in guild wars2 please help me to choose thank you

Race doesn’t matter. Pick whichever you like the looks of most.

There is not a better race in GW2, just choose the one that look the more fun to you.

For casters GW2 offers the Necromancer,. the Elementalist and the Mesmer. ALL of them are super fun.

My advice to you is level each one of them to level 10 so you can get a feel for the class…then from there narrow it down to your two favorite one and level them to 20 then at level 20 you should have a pretty good idea what which one suits you best.

Just make a mental note that ALL classes or as they are called in this game profession can TANK, DPS and HEAL but at a water-down version.

Meaning there are NO dedicated tanks, dps, healers….the holy trinity is all merged with your profession.

First thing you need to do is get out of the WoW Mindset. GW2 is entirely different and the traditional MMO mindset won’t help you here.

No race has an advantage over another. They are just for looks/lore. Every race can be every profession (class).

There is no healers/tanks/dps. Everyone can heal, support, and dps. There is no target healing like in WoW, so don’t expect to be a healer only. You play all roles at once, not just one.

Once you get out of the WoW Mindset, you can enjoy GW2 for what it is. A different game.

Spyder beat me to it, but I’ll echo – be prepared for GW2 to be quite different to WoW. Not totally different in every way, by any means, but if you approach it the same way you are likely to be disappointed. GW2 rewards different things. It’s also much mor casual-friendly in my opinion

Choose your race based on what you think looks cool or what sort of setting you like – macho and heroic, cute or amusing, human-like or crazy fantasy race? It won’t effect what classes or skills you can take (well, a few skills but I don’t think it’s a big deal). Then try out a few classes. Even if you just go for a DPS style, each class will play kind of differently (but each will let you go for massive damage somehow, if that’s what you want).

Also just a note. If you ever find yourself depressed due to soloing pve, DON’T BE DISHEARTENED !

For some reason (depending on server) you may find that you will have to initiate conversation or the first one to be social.
