Is there going to be a Halloween event this year? I see no mention of it on the forums, other than Horrorween, which seems to be community driven, and no announcement about it in media, unless I missed it, which is entirely possible. Would it not normally be going live around now? 2 weeks before to 2 weeks after seems to be the pattern in previous years. Or, is all the focus being placed in to the LW stuff this year?

Nope, nothing! But apparently if you think of the silence about anything related to upcoming features as them just being charming, it’s less irritating. I wouldn’t know myself, I stopped finding it charming awhile back.
So is the blood and madness event going to be an exact copy and paste of last years Halloween minus the features. Cause we already got the features. If so, why not copy and paste the good Halloween from 2012 and not the crappy halloween from 2013? And dont bring up lions arch. No body cares about lions arch.

I think attitudes like this are why they are hesitant to tell us anything. We as a community cant even handle not calling dev work crappy every chance we get. No reason in telling us what they -hope- to do for us when there’s so much flak about what they actually get done.
On topic though. you didnt miss it. its going to be up briefly before season continuation.

They probably won’t say anything. Not even a video like for LS ones. It’ll most likely be a copy paste of last years (due to the name they’re using), so why say anything until its announced? That way they can postpone all the threads about how its the same until its out and occupying some of those thread starters (thus anet makes it appear to be better than it actually is).

@sorudo what I meant by the lions arch comment was, I dont count it as different if they put the event in lions arch with the torn up buildings if its the same events, same content. So just because lions arch looks different this year, dont try to tell me its a different event if its the same content with different background building textures. Those rebuilding LA discussions (though I dont care about them, i get that others do. Personally I find it great that there are crafting stations all over the map) are perfectly valid discussions.

See, here’s the flaw in that strategy, if that is their strategy. The people who would have raged over an announcement that the content is the same are still raging. The only difference is that people like me who just want to know what’s going on and coming up are now ALSO raging. It benefits nobody, least of all Arenanet.
I know I dont come here to post until its way past time for them to have put something up. I wouldnt say Im raging but I do believe this puts bullet point on what were asking for when it comes to more communication.

Apologies. I am apparently growing negativity intolerant. I did notice it though.
I’d address it by saying much of the content but (not the skins) will be returning. We may not have the hilarity of Shadow of a MK, but at least we’ll have inquisition.
hopefully. They might make some changes to the events due to the changes in world topology, so right now its too early to like or dislike anything.

@Azure The Heartless no apology necessary. I guess my original hope when I posted was that a dev would read it and respond. There are several threads about them communicating more and they have even been posting in some of those threads so they appear to be trying. But in my mind, this is why people started complaining in the first place. Because of the lack of news before stuff gets rolled out.
Is there any way I can say this or something like it without sounding rude or entitled. I really dont want to derail the conversation into a thread about how all players like me are a bunch of whiny babies.

2012 was definitely better than 2013. Same goes for the holiday event.
My hope is that at the very least ANET brings back that mini dungeon from 2012. That was a lot of fun.

I completely understand and agree. I don’t think we ate asking for too much. It just makes me sad. I can’t even threaten to quit because I like the game a lot and I couldn’t quit playing it, I wouldn’t even say I won’t play the Mad King’s content.
I just hope they understand that they are making the experience less enjoyable and leaving a really bitter taste in the mouth of someone who just made the mistake of being overly excited to see what they were going to do next.
