Guild Wars 2

I have a problem I just purchased Guild Wars about 2 hours ago and just finished downloading it. I’m trying to locate my friends server but its late and I can’t get a hold of him. (Want to play tonight not in like 12 or so hours) Any way of finding him I know his in-game name but that’s it. Also noticed the you can only play one server don’t want to screw myself over and not be able to play…

I dont know how transfers work anymore but they used to be free. So you could play tonight and transfer tomorrow… I think if you just bought the game you still get a free transfer, but again I don’t know anymore.

First, welcome to the game. You can add him to your friends list when you get in game. The server only matters if you planned on World vs World with him. Otherwise you can guest on a different server. If you do want to WvW with him I suggest you wait until you can find out what server he is on, otherwise it will cost you money (gems) to transfer.

the only way we would be able to find him would be if he was logged in. unless someone knows him personally and happens to stumble in this thread.

you are indeed limited to one server and transfers are NOT free, so you should wait the 12 hours.(assuming you want to world vs world at all that is).

You can always transfer servers for free if you don’t have any characters, but not if you have any, so if you can’t find out tonight, you could pick one, play around with character creation and the starter area, then delete and switch servers when you find out where your friend is.

add ur friend to your contact list, ask him what server he is on.

You do not need to delete your character. Please don’t (unless he/she is so low level you don’t care…even then, don’t). Try to find out which server they are on. Barring that, the only thing server counts for is WvW, since you can do everything else together.
