Hello everyone,

I haven’t played in a long time, since before HoT to be exact, and am really struggling to get a good picture of the classes right now.

Im looking to get back into PvE, mostly open world and some fractals, for now.
I have an engineer which I don’t really enjoy anymore because it just feels awkward and sluggish to play for really no particularly higher reward than other classes. I Also have a Mesmer on which I don’t really have an oppinion at the moment.

As I said, im mostly interested in casual PvE. I’m interested in Necro but can’t figure out if hes good for map events/tagging. I really don’t like to feel rushed during events and really want an easy time tagging and participating in the event.

If necro is not recommend for my desired playstyle, is there a better option with nice and fluid gameplay?

Not really something someone can suggest for you. Just try them all and even try them on different races to see which one feels right for you, then play the daylights out of it.

[OTR] – Greck Howlbane – Guardian
Soraya Mayhew – Thief
Melissa Koris – Engie – SF for Life!

Depends if you own HoT expansion and/or plan to buy PoF expansion. They both add elite Specialization that transforms nearly every class. They can be a pain to unlock by grinding in the HoT maps (not sure about PoF yet since it is unreleased) but those elites are all better and stronger.

You should play a class you like to play and not force yourself into playing something you feel weird about. Each class has also several different builds you can choose from so there is no actual “best” class.

Open world content (specially outside HoT maps) is easy enough for any class to enjoy.

In my opinion Necro is good for events/tagging and solo play in PvE, I never had any problems with it. They can be really fun to play if you pick the style you like best and are great at surviving. I have been playing Necro as my main for 4 years now and still love the class.

You should just take your time and try out all the classes and see what you like best. I think all the classes are great and fun to play in their own way depending on your style of gameplay.
