Help with a Norn name?
Here’s the site I use: http://www.vikingsofbjornstad.com/Old_Norse_Dictionary_E2N.shtm
I look for words denoting what I want my norn’s name to mean, then I look for the most easy to pronounce for my English tongue, and I mush them together without worrying too much about specific meaning.
So I have a norn named Ylfa Aetlaveidr, roughly translated to she-wolf fated hunter, and I picked up these ideas for pet names, keeping them in Word since they won’t stick in game:
Alpine Wolf Issulfr (Ice Wolf)
Armor Fish Herklaedi (Armor)
Arctodus Rifa (Rip)
Black Bear Blarbitr (Black Biting)
-Black Moa Hrafn (Raven)
-Black Widow Spider Ekkja (Widow)
Blue Jellyfish Reki (Jetsam)
Blue Moa Fjordpiner (guess!)
Boar Galti (Wild Boar)
Brown Bear Grimmr (Grim)
Carrion Devourer Eyrrdrepa (Spit Strike)
Cave Spider Helliretta (Cave Eight)
Eagle Ari (Eagle)
Fern Hound Lauf (Leaf)
Forest Spider Elketta (Tree Eight)
Hawk Sverdlopt (Sword Sky)
Hyena Hlatr (Laughter)
Ice Drake Seinnfrost (Slow Frost)
Jaguar Grannr (Slender)
Jungle Spider Eitretta (Poison Eight)
Jungle Stalker Kelda (Spot)
Krytan Drakehound Storrhundr (Huge Hound)
Lashtail Devourer Dundi (Whir)
Lynx Villieldr (Wildfire)
Marsh Drake Myrr (Bog/Swamp)
Murellow Bani (Slayer)
Owl Vedr (Wind)
Pig Vandrflesk (Bad Bacon)
Pink Moa Astfugl (Love Bird)
Polar Bear Duna (Resounding)
Raven Blekkrblindr (Black Blinder)
Red Jellyfish
Red Moa Dreyri (Blood)
-Reef Drake Rif (Reef)
River Drake Groenna (Green River)
Salamander Drake Garganleggr (Snake Leg)
Shark Fiskr (Fish)
Siamoth Flatrnef (Flat Nose)
Snow Leopard Isskelda (Ice Spot)
Warthog Griss (Piglet)
Whiptail Devourer Otti (Fear/Dread)
White Moa Gellirkala (Yeller Become Cold)
-White Raven Litlauss (Pale)
Wolf Valdr (Wolf)
think of something you like in English. then go to a translation site into norwiegan or some other Nordic language and type it in to see what comes out. if its not to your liking try something else. that is how I came up with the last names of both my norn characters
Rhiannon Protector Of Spirits… could be too long not sure
[iQ] Intrinsic Quality
Call him META so every time u die in pvp its that much closer to abolishing that word.
Using my site linked above, Verjagandr could loosely mean protecting spirits.
If you want a surname typical nomenclature would be the name of a parent suffixed by dodder to signify a female offspring.

Or dottir, or dotter, etc. Old norse did not use the english alphabet, so spellings are kind of fluid when translating. Also, “-kin” is an option, as in Eir Stegalkin. Makes you wonder who Stegal was.

“Thor Odinson of Friya” that’d be Norn meta name.
Me so norny….

They could easily rename that site into NoImaginationAtAll.com/names.
Madness Rises [Rise] – Banners Hold.
Don’t argue with idiots, they pull you down their level and own you with experience.
Rhiannon Bell
Rhiannon Skytaken
Rhiannon Unanswered – both from the lyrics and the norn npc "i prey to the spirits of the wild but they rarely answer .
Rhiannon Windtaken
Rhiannon Promised
Rhiannon Unwound
spelling changed to ; Rhiannah
all within 19 character limit i think , and inspired by the song lyrics .
good luck with your naming . it’s not easy .
if you had anything in mind to do with the fleetwood mac song or the legend it was written about , welsh would be a better than norse for your naming convention .

Norn names doesn’t necesarily have to be a norse one, the Norn are also heavily inspired by celtic culture (celtic knots all over their tats). A germanic, dutch (friessian) or pictish celt/scottish (gaelic) name will work. In fact Rhiannon is a celtic name I believe.
For the second name you can either go with somethingdottir, where you pick some other name or you can go for a title. Really, norn aren’t too fussy about their title so long as it’s something they’d boast about or brings them fame.
