I really like the heritage medium armor but I never played gw1.
I would like to know how much points I would need to get the jerkin alone
How much $ will it cost me?
How much time will it cost me?
What will I need to buy?

I’ve looked for dozens of threads on this but the info is blurry and confusing

6 points

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Hall_of_Monuments has a nice table, with the point values and what you earn at that value

Don’t look at me like that. Whatever you’ve heard, it’s probably not true.

It’s relatively easy to get. You’d need 3 more points. You’d need to at least get to level 10, get to the Eye of the North and get another 3 points points in the Hall of Monuments, since you get 3 for just linking accounts.

It would cost you at least the purchase of Guild Wars 1 Prophecies or any of the games, and Eye of the North, so about $50, if you get the whole trilogy.

It’s not really that hard. I’ve run people through that gauntlet many times.

You need to buy at least 1 full campaign (Prophecies, Factions or Nightfall) and Eye of the North. The price varies a lot. Last time I looked Amazon.co.uk had the complete collection (all 4 of the above) for under £10. I recommend checking in a few different places to compare prices before buying.

To get the jerkin you just need to link your accounts. This means owning a GW1 base campaign and EotN and getting a GW1 character to level 10 and visiting the Hall of Monuments once.

How long that takes depends on which campaign you get. With Factions you could do it in about 2 hours, with Prophecies it would be probably around 4-6 hours (Nightfall is somewhere in the middle).

Getting more points would take longer (although there are some you can get quite quickly) if you want to consider it the guide on the Wiki is really good.

I played GW1 and every expansion except Eye of the North. How do you actually get a point? Could I already have points from my previous games? I don’t remember much from GW1 achievement system lol

A-net made a calculator. You give it a character name and it tells you what you’ve finished / what’s left / how much you need for the next reward tier.

There is also a wiki guide to getting it done:

Yes you could already have “potential” points but without GW: Eye of the North, they would not be calculated yet.

For Example: you get points for dedicating the Minis that you may have in your inventory at the Hall of Monuments in GW:EotN. So even though you have 20 minis you would not get credit for them till they are dedicated.

Definition: The Hall of Monuments is an explorable area that commemorates acquisitions and accomplishments of a character and/or an account. Available only to accounts that are linked to Eye of the North, it is the only area in the game that is personalized to the party leader. Five distinct monuments allow players to show off certain weapons, all miniatures, most heroes and some pets, various prestige armor, and player titles. More importantly for many players, filling one’s Hall of Monuments is the only way to unlock a number of Guild Wars 2 bonus items and titles.
So once you get GW:EotN and are able to get to the Hall of Monuments and see how to dedicate stuff then you will start racking up points.

Hall of Monuments Calculator: Finely when you start getting points you can log into this site to keep track of them.

You can wait for a sale on Amazon or some other site. I’ve gotten the entire GW1 series for less than $20 before (but you only need one of the games and EotN).

It’s relatively easy to get. You’d need 3 more points. You’d need to at least get to level 10, get to the Eye of the North and get another 3 points points in the Hall of Monuments, since you get 3 for just linking accounts.

The easiest way is to finish one campaign (2 points for “any statue” in Honor), and get MOX (hero available for having all 3 campaigns and EotN expansion – 1 point for “Any Hero Statue” in Fellowship). Alternatively, if you bought only one Campaign and EotN, you can replace MOX with any mini (you can still likely buy one from other players, the blue ones should be cheap) to get 1 point for “Any Miniature Statue” in Devotion. Or get a ranger (either primary or secondary – primary would be faster) and level your pet to lev 20 – that is also one point.
Just remember, that to unlock any of the monuments in Hall of Monuments (beyond Honor which is unlocked by default), you will need a tapestry. One is acquirable practically as soon as you arrive to the place, but for full unlock (3 more monuments), you’d need to finish 3 racial subarcs of the Eye of the North storyline (one tapestry for each arc). Notice, that this is only necessary if you’d want more than 6 points that are required to unlock full armor skin set.

From what i remember, getting ~10-12 points is relatively easy, but after that things start to get harder and harder. Getting to 30 (full unlock of all the skins) is a pain and requires lot of effort and time. Getting to 50 (max points you can get, Champion of the Gods title) is a massive pain and would require a ton of effort. God Walking amongst Mere Mortals title requires even more than that.

Actions, not words.
